A fate, I wish not even for the worse of foes

His estranged muse watches over his shoulder
As a vulture weakened by hunger,
Longing to be fed and he the same

The Station

In my shivering hand

A puppeteer with forced strings of his own

The First Confession

My Family, 
Dearest components of my heart 
I stand before you, next in line, 
The next one to face the end 
I have many years to look back upon
More mistakes than any
Here I stand, on this day of sorrow,
Blatantly sharing nothing but my unfortunate truth
I know, I was never the best of sons
Never the best husband
By no means the best father

As I dine with you today,
The darkness of my past sits at my shoulder
The past in which I never partook
And that I know, was my biggest mistake of all
I have only one wish,
The wish that when I awake tomorrow
I will no longer be the man I am today

That he will never return.

When Pens Don’t Work

On an even field of bricks, 
Tainted by the despair of others
I found my pens not working,
And my words longing to be retained
Still I let my cigarette take its time
And the hasty hours play free
But on this Friday, Wednesday showed
And with her my courage 
Though the words were thrown overboard
They had not yet sunken 
So we went to find him,
He that willingly carves my wish into my forthcoming 
He that overrules hesitation
Now eternally signed beneath my reach 
His needles have spoken
Reminding me to always wait for Wednesday 
When my pen doesn’t work.
