The mission of non-profit Kid Electric Concerts is to raise funds and awareness for local non-profit and community based organizations who aim to change not only our great city but the world. We celebrate these organizations by putting on creatively themed benefit concerts that showcase Nashville's best artists and pay tribute to great and timeless music. It is our hope and passion that these concerts motivate our community to get out there and "do something".
Kid Electric Concerts is inspired by Bob Dylan's gutsy move to "go electric" during the Newport Folk Festival in the late 60's where he played folk music with an electric guitar much to the dismay of a lot of folk purists. Just like folk music was never the same after Dylan went electric, we believe that once we spark something in this city by encouraging others to give back to our great community, we can have lasting and consistent change for the better.
Who I'd like to meet: You at our next Kid Electric Concert! In honor of Michael Jackson's birthday (8/29) and of the 30th anniversary of the release of his seminal album, Off the Wall, Kid Electric Concerts has compiled yet another group of amazing local musicians who will perform that record in its entirety at Mercy Lounge. The line-up of vocalists alone is stellar, as it will includes the likes of Damien Horne (Muzik Mafia), Ruby Amanfu (Sam and Ruby), Lisa Kimmey and many more. For this event, part of the proceeds will be donated to Boys and Girls Club of Middle Tennesse, in honor of Steve McNair.
In addition to the live performance of this amazing record, there will be prize giveaways throughout the evening, a Michael Jackson dance contest during the intermission, and a DJ spinning Michael Jackson classics after the show and much more.
One of the event's sponsors is Lovenoise, who will be giving tickets away for Playdate Nashville and upcoming concerts. Another sponsor is 92Q, whose very own Jene India will be hosting.
The 18+ show will kick off at 9pm with doors opening at 8pm. Biscuits and Gravy will open the show.

Girl...that was hilarious!! I HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE that I missed the show....I haven't even asked about it, because I don't want to feel the staggering pain upon my heart when I hear how good it was...so I just choose to exist in a world in which the Innversions show did NOT happen...so I can feel better about moving on!!
