We're idiots, but that's besides the point, we're KID idiot. We've very much adopted a DIY ethic towards our band, producing all of our recordings and videos without the aid of a professional studio or people who know what they're doing...bedroom rockstars if you will! This musical independence combined with our complete lack of 'trendiness' has resulted in a sound which is quite different to the current crop of new bands. We've never really been part of any scene, but on a good day we've been described as an English Weezer or on a bad day a ballsy Busted! In fairness we're probably a bit of both, drawing on the classic songwriting and melodic pop sensibilities of the former and the teenage pin-up good looks of the latter! A recipe for KID idiot would probably go something like this: Take three ambitious twenty-somethings and a generous helping of loud guitars and pounding drums. Mix this with a handful of fresh pop hooks and season with a pinch of an observational wit. Simmer each song for 3-4 minutes before serving with a cup of Earl Grey for that quintessential sense of Englishness.
Since our formation in early 2005 (and a few name changes later) we have been playing live throughout the UK and building up a fanbase with the help of this very page.
The not to distant future should see us continuing to write and record, resulting in a million pound record deal and eventually the whole world domination thing. Of course, it could all go wrong, but we've got a great excuse...we told you we were idiots.
