About me:
TO HELP SOMEBODY
You wake up one day and decide to help somebody.
No one is looking at you, no cameras are shooting, no award or reward will be given to you for doing it, but still you decide to help somebody.
You do not wait for an organized collection; you do not check if it is the right day to do so, you did not see on TV a big flood or an earthquake.
You wake up one day and decide to help somebody.
You do not have anything to spare, you do not have much, you work hard and that is why you have what you have.
No one gave you anything, you do not have spare time, but still you decide to help somebody.
You wake up one day, and contrary to current times, to popular beliefs, beyond the opinion of stock market fanatics, or what the finance manuals say, or the statistics and researches establish, you decide to help somebody.
You have no idea if you will gain a place in heaven, you do not have the slightest idea if people will remember you because of this gesture, no one will take a photograph or clap their hands while you walk by.
You wake up one day and decide to help somebody.
And you do it.
As simple as that: you do it.
You are not a Tibetan monk, you are not a saint, you are not necessarily the kindest person in the world, nor the most spiritual human being on earth.
You are not from another planet and your patience is not endless.
Sometimes you argue with your neighbor or your children drive you crazy.
You are not Zen, nor hippie, you are not an eccentric millionaire who found in philanthropy your favorite hobby, you are not at the edge of death and therefore, want to do something good before leaving this world, but as the most natural thing, you decide to help somebody.
You wake up one day and without meditating the benefits, without analyzing profits, without thinking costs, without noting it in the expenses spreadsheet or registering it anywhere, without intermediaries or allowances, without explanations or introductions, as if it was the most normal thing on earth, you decide to help somebody.
You did not dress up in a gala dress, you do not hesitate, you did not meditate it for years, you did not discuss it with your P.A. nor with your boss, and still you decide to help somebody.
You were not born on a bed of roses, you were born on a bed of roses; no one ever gave you a hand, someone once gave you a hand; you are a man, you are a woman; you are a father, a mother; you are neither a mother nor a father, and you decide to help somebody.
You wake up one day, it is no one's birthday, nor an anniversary, nor the commemoration of something, the day is not related to anything in particular; you did not have a revelation while sleeping or a nightmare in which you saw the tunnel and the light; it was not some mystic rapture.
You wake up one day and decide to help somebody.
And you do it.
As simple as that, you do it.
Nothing else.
More human being than anything else.
And you go to sleep and you have helped somebody.
You wake up the next day and the world has changed a little.

Usted se levanta un día y decide ayudar a alguien.
A usted no hay nadie mirándolo, ninguna cámara lo está filmando, ningún premio le darán por hacerlo, nada va a ganar a cambio, y usted decide ayudar a alguien.
Usted no espera a que se haya organizado una colecta, usted no consulta si es la fecha en que hay que hacerlo, no vio por televisión una gran inundación ni un terremoto.
Usted se levanta un día y decide ayudar a alguien.
A usted no le sobra nada, usted no tiene tanto, usted trabaja y por eso tiene lo que tiene.
Nadie le regaló nada, no dispone de tiempo, y decide ayudar a alguien.
Usted se levanta un día, y a contramano de los tiempos que corren, de las ideas que circulan, más allá de lo que opinan los fanáticos del mercado, de lo que dicen los manuales de comercio, de lo que marcan las encuestas o indican las estadísticas, usted decide ayudar a alguien.
Usted no tiene la menor idea de si ganará el cielo por esto, no sospecha ni remotamente que se lo vaya a recordar por este gesto, a usted no le sacarán una foto, ni lo recibirán después con aplausos.
Usted se levanta un día y decide ayudar a alguien.
Y lo hace.
Así de simple: lo hace.
Usted no es un monje tibetano, no es un santo, no es necesariamente la persona más buena del mundo, no es el ser más espiritual de la tierra.
Usted no es de otro planeta, su paciencia no es infinita.
A veces se pelea con un vecino o sus hijos lo sacan de quicio.
No es zen, no es hippie, no es un millonario excéntrico que encontró en la filantropía su pasatiempo favorito, tampoco usted está al borde de la muerte y quiere hacer un bien antes de abandonar este mundo, y con total naturalidad decide ayudar a alguien.
Usted se levanta un día, y sin meditar los beneficios, sin analizar las ganancias, sin pensar el costo, sin anotarlo en una planilla ni dejarlo registrado en ninguna parte, sin intermediarios ni permisos, sin explicaciones ni preámbulos, como lo más natural del mundo decide ayudar a alguien.
Usted no se ha vestido de gala, no anda con muchas vueltas, no lo pensó durante años, no lo charló con un secretario ni con un jefe, y decide ayudar a alguien.
Usted tuvo una vida color de rosa, usted no tuvo una vida color de rosa, a usted nunca nadie lo ayudó, a usted una vez lo ayudaron, usted es hombre, usted es mujer, usted es padre, madre, no es madre, no es padre, y decide ayudar a alguien.
Usted se levanta un día, y no es el cumpleaños de nadie, ni el aniversario de nada, ni la conmemoración de ninguna cosa, no viene al caso por algo en particular, no tuvo un sueño revelador, ni una pesadilla en la que vio el túnel y la luz, tampoco un rapto místico.
Usted se levanta un día y decide ayudar a alguien.

Más ser humano que otra cosa.

PASSED EVENTS
17/9/07 - "Photographers United" started with a BANG! It was an absolute success. We had around 35 people coming and all had brilliant comments to make. We sold more than we thought on the first night only. Soon we will upload photos of the evening in our Bebo page and MySpace page. Please note that the photos will still be available for purchase if someone is interested. Prices go from €100 up to €350 - depending on size availability. 11/9/07 - Majella made it!!!! Today she reached the top of Kilimanjaro!!! Even if she went with an injury in her leg, she still managed to make it all the way to the top. Thank you to all those who sponsored her. Your donations have been so generous that we were overwhelmed with the results. And CONGRATULATIONS to you, Jelly! Well done!
4/6/07 - The Flora Women's mini marathon was held again and it was our first "event"! It was a success for us. We had 3 runners who did great, completed the race and raised more money than what it was expected! We greatly appreciate all their effort and a big thanks to those who sponsored them!
