Our
mission is to help homeless children with the basic necessities and put them
back on the right path of life. Usually when children become homeless they are
devastated, confused and have nowhere to go. We provide the basic necessities
of life for them such as clothing, school supplies an in some instances we try
to provide housing.
The Kids Defense Team opened
their doors in the year of 2003, incorporated the organization in the state of
Maryland in 2004 became non-profit in December of 2006.
In an effort to continue our
support for homeless children we are seeking donations, via clothing and
monetary. We are looking to add more programs and services to the homeless and
needy. We are supported by various organizations and companies such as
Executives On The Go! who provides hours of administrative support, and our
newly revised colored brochures, U Printing.com donated business cards
and post cards, Thomas Wright Consulting, donated computer repair
services, and Fritz Printing, donated black and white brochures.
Kids Defense Teams vision includes:
Address the root cause of homelessness by exploring and supporting housing
alternatives and job training (transitional housing, affordable housing,
establishing relationships with rental property owners, job training workshops).
Under the guidance of the Board of Directors, increase advocacy efforts to
benefit more homeless families.
Increase awareness of the issues of homelessness and the services Kids Defense
Team provides.
In realizing this vision, Kids Defense Team will serve as a model for centers
serving the homeless and others in need locally and regionally.
Kids Defense Team has enrolled in the Food Lion Lion Shop
& Share program. Lion Shop and Share is a convenient way to raise money for
your organization. Each time you shop at Food Lion and use your MVP card, a
portion of your total grocery purchase will be donated to Kids Defense Team.
