Aparte de de las influencias de las grandes bandas como AC/DC,METALLICA,MOTÖRHEAD o IRON MAIDEN en los estilos de los grupos por los que he pasado,me gustaría destacar las figuras que verdaderamente me forjaron como baterista,maestros como RINGO STARR,JOHN BONHAM,PHIL RUDD,CLIVE BURR,IAN PAICE,LARS ULRICH,BUDDY RICH o REED MULLIN de CORROSION of CONFORMITY.

Angel Francisco Sandín Sanchez,"KiKo", nace el 30 de Mayo de 1968 en Salamanca.A los 7 años,hipnotizado por The Beatles,siente la necesidad imperiosa de "aporrear" los brazos de un sillón de escay al ritmo de Ringo Starr,no sin causar daños,con dos trozos de palo de escoba encontrados en algún lugar.Esta actitud fue lo suficientemente reprendida por su progenitor como para tener que ingeniárselas y construir su propio kit de batería con los tambores de 5 y 8kg de los detergentes para lavadora de la época.Esa fijación por golpear al ritmo crece con el tiempo y el swing de Ringo quedó desbancado por la contundencia de Phill Rudd de AC/DC.Continuó escuchando grupos "jevis",su padre trabajaba en una empresa relacionada con el mundo del disco,lo cual le facilitó las cosas en ese sentido (no en otros) y conoció el trabajo de músicos como Clive Burr,Dave Holland,Ian Paice,Phill Taylor y un jovencísimo Lars Ulrich.Hablamos de finales de los 70 y principios de los 80.Estos bateristas fueron sus maestros y supo con certeza que no habría estilos del momento de los cuales aprendiese más.Si tocaba como ellos tocaría cualquier cosa.Conviene decir que KiKo es un músico autodidacta con los vicios que esto conlleva,no tuvo oportunidad de cursar estudios musicales.Después quedó demostrado con el tiempo que sabía más que aquellos que sí los tuvieron.Tambien hay que reseñar que KiKo es zurdo,lo cual le acarreó los problemas de compartir escenario en los festivales,certámenes y eventos musicales en los que participó hasta formar parte de grupos con autonomías y nombre suficientes.En 1981 formó su primer grupo BASURA.Despues fundaría grupos como VULKANO,AWACK y formó parte de APOCALIPSIS.Tambien fundó OVERDRIVE junto a Mario Cea,ex-APOCALIPSIS.Todos ellos con escasa proyección musical.En 1987 es llamado para integrarse en 69FORBIDDEN,grupo de tendencias garaje de gran proyección musical del momento con su disco "Prohibido el 69".En esta etapa KiKo se forma como baterista profesional.Finalizado el proyecto 69,KiKo se reúne con Mario Cea en 1989 y fundan PRE$IDENT,que consigue contrato discográfico con el sello BARRABAS y publican el album "Have a nice trip" junto a Jorge Miguel y Andrés Ibarra,que abandonarían el grupo más tarde.Rotas las relaciones con BARRABAS(el sucio)y con Jorge y Andrés,PRE$IDENT produce y publica su segundo album "ViVen"en directo junto a Fernándo J.Julián y Basilio Jiménez en 1997 para el sello DIAMANTE.El tema "El sucio Barrabás" está dedicado en cuerpo y alma a ese maldito sello.PRE$IDENT se disuelve en 1998.KiKo siguió tocando para bandas como SALSAMANCA o MAR ROJO.En 2000 entra a formar parte del grupo de rock COMMO y en 2002 abandona el proyecto.KiKo también formó parte de la banda del Colectivo de Músicos de Salamanca para la presentación de sus "Conciertos Didácticos".Actualmente colabora con FLAMENKO Y YO en la producción de lo que será su primer album "Persiguiendo un sueño" aunque nunca abandonará la idea de formar una gran banda de ROCK,pero eso es otra historia.De hecho, KiKo Sandín es un producto al servicio de los entes interesados en su trabajo como asesor rítmico,músico para directos,grabaciones,producción musical,colaboración y en definitiva una herramienta en venta al alcance de TODOS.Otros,lo definirían..."MERCENARIO".

When he was just 7 years old, mesmerized for The Beatles, he feels the need “to hit” an old family armchair with a couple of broom pieces,under the rythm of Ringo Starr, causing damage to the poor easy chair. Told off by his father, KIKO had to invent and to build a new “drum” with a laundry detergent bucket. The obsession for “hitting” with rythm becomes bigger & bigger. Ringo’s mellow swing was displaced by Phil Rudd’s strength, ACDC drummer. KIKO kept listenning to Heavy Metal Bands. At that time, KIKO’s father worked at a music-shop, which made things easier in connection with bands and music (and only in that sense).KIKO knew the job of musician like Clive Burr..s,Dave Holland..s,Ian paice..s,Phill Taylor..s and the young Lars Ulrich..s.We are talking about 70..s and early 80..s.In a way,these drummers were masters for him and styles like that ones,made him really learn about music.Should he play like them,he..d play any rythm.KIKO is a self-taught guy,he hadn..t the chance to study music.He eventually demonstrated that he had more music formation that those who formally studied music.Something must be said, KIKO is and intelligent left-handed and this meant a pain in the ass when sharing stage with other bands in concerts, music festivals etc. (as you may know the position of the drum must be shifted for left-handed guys). In 1981 he founded his first band BASURA (trash). Aferwards VULCANO, AWACK and lately he became a member of APOCALIPSIS (apocalypse). KIKO also founded OVERDRIVE along with Mario Cea.All these bands had not musical projection.In 1987 became a member of the band 69 FORBIDDEN,with garage tends and a big projection at that time,the album "69 PROHIBIDO"(69 forbidden,about a Ronald Reagan..s law).In this period KIKO gets a pro musical formation as a drummer.Being the 69 FORBIDDEN project over,KIKO and Mario Cea got together again and both founded PRE$IDENT in 1990,geting a musical contract with BARRABAS COMPANY,the album "HAVE A NICE TRIP" was published in 1993 along with another two members,Jorge Miguel and Andres Ibarra who both forsook the band lately.Broken relations with BARRABAS (the dirty) and with Jorge and Andres,PRE$IDENT procuced and published its second album called "VIVEN"(They are alive) recorded live along with Fernando J.Julian and Basilio Jimenez in 1997 for DIAMOND COMPANY.The song "El sucio Barrabas"(Dirty Barrabas)was completely dedicated to that damned company.PRE$IDENT splitted up in 1998.KIKO kept playing with bands like SALSAMANCA,MAR ROJO(Red Sea).In 2000,KIKO became a member of a rock & roll band called COMMO,and in 2002 he quitted.KIKO also was a member of "COLECTIVO DE MUSICOS DE SALAMANCA"(Salamanca Music Asociation) and with this band,KIKO presented "Educational Concerts".Nowadays KIKO is working with FLAMENKO Y YO,producing his first album "PERSIGUIENDO UN SUEÑO"(Chasing a Dream).The idea of becoming a member of a BIG ROCK BAND is always with KIKO(in relations with ***LOUTANY***to get this project come true)but thats belongs to another story.In fact,KIKO SANDIN is a musician at your service,to whom it may concern,KIKO has currently become a musical rythm advisor,a great musician for live concerts,for recordings,musical production.KIKO is nowadays a "TOOL" for sale.Some may call him,MERCENARY.
