Legend has it, it took the Beatles 18 hours to record their first album. In contrast its taken Sheffield electro/rock band KIK 4 years to add the finishing touches to the debut LP 'RockScar' and finally allow their ‘baby' out of the womb and into the world to KIK the arses of their musical peers!
The time line had nothing to do with over self-indulgence or too much studio budget. Its all been about getting it right, about a package of 14 slices of contemporary rock & roll cream cake, each one worthy of the quarter decade or more its taken to bake it. Over a 100 tracks were recorded for contention for this album. Indeed there could easily be a ‘RockScar' 2, 3 or 4 before KIK need ever enter a recording studio again.
Like Led Zeppelin no single release proceeds the album, the band feeling no individual track on ‘RockScar' can define their sound exactly. So the full KIK jukebox must be experienced in its entirety for the effect to be fully appreciated.
