Premiere Noisicians. Full Time Modulators. Human Soundstages.
Introduction.
We are Admiral Snackbar and el Uste. Our names translated in any language signify nothing but our output has intention. We are characters, true. Our mothers did not birth pieces of noise. We were born as standard humans and lived standard lives. Yet somewhere in our 19th years we were inspired to become metaphysical beings.
Preparation.
The Admiral and el Uste met at an institution of higher learning in Ithaca, New York, in 1996. With other gentlemen (including China), and under assumed names, they became founding members of a non-violent gang. Non-violent, yes, but they still got in lots of trouble. In effort to redirect their misguided energy, several gang members played music instead. The Admiral and el Uste then studied Audio Production Technique, both Analog and Digital, as well as Electroacoustic Composition. In time they would practice and experiment with these theories.
Inspiration.
At this point, C3P-Suit, a close friend of the duo, confided in el Uste and the Admiral that he was under the mind control of the Obsessive-Compulsive Distorter. This explained his erratic and frightening behavior. Kilbacca was formed as mankind's (and more specifically, ThreePieceSuit's) only hope in decoding the Obsessive Compulsive Distorter.
Modulation.
The initial efforts to heal C3P-Suit were made by el Uste. He spent a night alone with his 4-track and a pair of headphones serving as a microphone. el Uste shared this recording with Admiral Snackbar, who subsequently added his own tracks. The result, Layered Bullshit, was a twenty-two and a half opus. In order to make this recording possible, Kilbacca embraced the power of modulation, the manipulation of sound. This became their quest. Kilbacca would continue to alter found sound, created sound, traditional sound, pre-recorded sound, re-recorded sound, undesirable sound, electronic sound, and sound upon sound.
Perspiration.
After completing Layered Bullshit, Kilbacca immediately thrust themselves into Neighbor Hater Modulator, another twenty-two and a half minute project. They have not their blistering recording habits since, completing several more works. At this point, however, they took their word on the road, performing outside for anyone who would listen. C-3PSuit stands out front holding a "Kilbacca" sign while el Uste and the Admiral tear it up--the crowd as well as their emotions.
Subliminal Insemination.
We may never completely decode this weapon of distraction, but with each recording, we can surpress C3P-Suit's evil thoughts a little bit more. And so, Kilbacca takes their sound to a live stage to further permeate your brains.
