K.I.L was formed on a whim somewhere off the 15 freeway, and deep in the heart of the Mojave. The concrete slab the first song was written on was nothing special--it wasn’t meant for some grand pillar of legislation or a monument to architectural ingenuity. No, instead it was just another slab for a cookie cutter tract home, built for your average Joe 12 pack family living somewhere between here and nowhere. We were on our lunch break, and as usual, bitching about the state of the state, and the shape of punk rock today. David was the boss, a 23 year old drop out that wasn’t going to amount to much in the world, but maybe a guy with a few good memories and some broken skateboards from the salad days. But we had brought with us an acoustic guitar and started strumming a few chords as we scrawled some complacent lyrics with a piece of keel on the very slab we were eating our Del Taco. It wasn’t long after that 1st song was written we recruited a drummer, and found our lead guitar player in a drunken stooper in the corner at our 1st show. Since then the whole damn thing has snowballed on us. We have shared the stage with such bands as The Addicts, Agent Orange, Narcoleptic Youth, The Smut Peddlers, Mad Marge and the Stone Cutters, and more.
