Imagine a world where brothers sing in harmony, where crowds roar with laughter at jokes told in between original songs that invoke tears of joy, and where quirky cover songs attract endless “oohs” and “ahs”. Seems like the stuff of legend, doesn’t it? Well... that legend has come to life in the sleepy town of Omaha, Nebraska. Folks in these parts call it “Kill Bosby”, and it’s coming to a stage near you. Witness the Brothers Bosby – Damon and Dane-Mychal – as they seek to redefine entertainment as we know it. Since 2003, Kill Bosby has played numerous shows, written a slew of songs, and gone through frequent lineup changes. Still these two have always remained. These two are and always will be the definition of “Kill Bosby”. Check them out here for show dates as well as information on their upcoming rock n’ roll EP, “On Thursday We Leave for Home”, due out by year’s end and featuring bass by Timothy A. Knowles and drums by Joseph M. Chavanu.
Kill Bosby is a rock band from Omaha, Nebraska. Their music can best be described as a fusion of alternative rock, Beatles-esque pop melodies, harmonies that recall the likes of Simon and Garfunkel, and enough eclecticism to make Ween proud. The band formed in Iowa City in 2003 when guitarist/vocalist Damon Bosby approached longtime brother and vocalist Dane Bosby about finally starting a band to record and play their catalog of mostly co-written songs. Besides the Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, and Ween, some of the band's other influences include: The Who, Ben Folds, Dada, Jimi Hendrix, the Anniversary, Built to Spill, System of a Down, Butterfly Jones, and many of the singer/songwriters who emerged in the '60s and '70s. Kill Bosby released their debut record in October of 2005.
Kill Bosby loves Bill Cosby and does not wish to kill him or anyone else. Their band name is merely a spoonerism of his name.
So yesterday I asked my friend to turn up the radio because I wanted to hear the "Feather Warcast". Needless to say I thought of you guys with that slip of the tongue.
Goddamn!?!! When did you guys become my favourite band? When are you getting your swimming pool full of diamonds? I'm coming to your show tonight. Fuck...I'm proud to say I know you cats. I'm seriously astonished. Best of luck. Kill Bosby owns...fo real. Wird. Justin.
There's not much I miss about Slowmaha, but I must admit, I'll never forget sitting at your concerts and drinking a fair amount of the Bud and eventually insisting that every member of the band take their pants off. the word that comes to mind is "good" or "goodness"
I finally got time to have a listen to your green apple cd that you sent me. It was totally my style and I liked how different the songs were. Thanks for actually sending me one and I will definitely let people know what they're missing out on by not checking you out.
My friend and I are huge fans and we will only be in Omaha from March 7-11. Please play a show! We fell in love with you on your KXVO performance and can't wait to see you live one day!
love the green apple. strong song. hello, thanks for the friendship. We hope you related to our songs, from the sentimental "Remember" to the aggressive howl of "Brother, Brother" into the message of "From the West" We send you much peace and love and look forward to hearing from you often. We're rocking the Nashville studio's now, so we'll be posting new songs in the coming weeks. SDB
So good to meet you last night! I'm not gonna lie, I'm really diggin' your cd. (...had Surrender the Sea in my head all day at work) By the way, my guitar is a mahogany Martin D-15... couldn't live without it. :)
Thanks for the add, and hopefully run into you again soon!
24 Days till Christmas and 30 days to get ready for the New Year and to start with a clean slate. Happy Holidays to all and looking forward to you next cd.
Hope you are doing well. We are playing a show this Friday at Shea Riley's with Talkin Mountain, Hyannis, and Tophat to celebrate the release of our new EP, “Too Much Information Age.” It's $5 and begins at 8pm, and anyone who comes will get a free copy of the EP. It’d be great to see you out! Oh yeah, All of the songs we're playing that night will have a media theme, and we will have a TV on stage playing everyone’s movie of choice while we play. Any suggestions?
