Kill The Buddha started as my solo project when Old Phoebe went on hiatus. Then I asked Tanner and Adam to be my band and they said yes. Then when it was time to practice, Adam went on a road trip with his dad and Tanner brought Scott over. It became clear that Scott was my true love in another life, and he brought an omnichord, so he was obviously in the band. He never brought the omnichord again. Me and Tanner and Scott played a show at Jake’s house. Then Adam came back and when it was time to practice again, Tanner got a haircut, and Adam and Scott met each other and decided to be good friends. Then we all played at the Spirit Rockoon Festival and I thought it was terrible, but apparently it wasn’t that bad. Todd and Ryan were there and we used to live in a house together and play music in the garage, and in the shack before that, and also Todd is my brother, so they joined the band too. We played a show at the Cambie with Dog Day and Hot Birds and Bees, and at the Fun of the Bands at the Chrome Horse. It was starting to feel pretty good, except for all the organizing and phonecalling and Scott doesn’t even have a phone. Then Todd and Ryan went to Mexico, so in the second round of the Fun of the Bands I played alone with a kick-drum and hi-hat and harmonica. Now, Kill The Buddha might be a one man band, or, it might not. The Buddha you meet is not the true Buddha.
