The LA-based rock trio Killed By Design consists of vocalist Kyle Spicer, bassist Billy Jones and drummer David Spreng. Jones and Spreng met while living in Boston – both coming up in the Boston music scene, while Spicer, a Los Angeles native, was doing the same here at home. The three became friends while working on a project in 2006.
The group's passion for creating driving beats and clever harmony while boasting big vocals surrounded by lush guitars provides their unique and cinematic sound. These songs were born in the bedrooms and studios of the band. After months of collaborating in their 2nd NoHo rehearsal space, after their 1st one burned to the ground, they began creating what would become the first of two EP's.
‘Occulta Veritas’, released May 20, 2008, was produced by David Spreng and features “Get Out Alive”, "Won't Change", and "I Want The World" - all mixed by Ken Andrews.
Upon the completion of recording, longtime friend Bryce Martin was asked to fill the guitar slot. He adds enthusiastic textures and booming guitars to the mix creating a back-and-forth synergy within the band.
Their follow up EP, ‘Novum Organum', due to be released in February 2009, was also produced by David Spreng and features “Everything Is A Lie”, "Tell Me Why", and "Walls".

OK, so the MN H2H thing was an absolute joke...if run correctly, KBD should have taken the whold shebangie. As far as myself and my drummer Scott, we have dubbed you cats our latest faves. We were just floored by your toonz. Actually, we think it would be great to trade shows Killed By Design here in NorCal with Luvplanet and the reverse, us down there with you. We've got a few venues up here in the SF Bay Area that are rockin' and we'd luv to start working SoCal more. Let's talk via email and see if the particulars could work out. Again, awesome band, killer songs and for us, this is what made that MN gig worth the time. Cheers, Tommy & Luvplanet
