Influences
Life experiences, anything good or bad. I get inspired by various events that happen, especially bad relationships. Music, well, just about anything from spanish flamenco to metal, some country, pop, I am not however, influenced by any of todays B.S. cookie cutter mainstream bands... I love Jake, but he is not an influence, He's a friend that inspires me, I have lots and lots of Hawaiian CD's, and they give me inspiration of hope and motivate the instrumental side of me sometimes. The entire Okami family give me support, and that drives me because they stand behind me..It can go on forever. Music is my heart and soul. I can only write songs about personal experiences. So, If you ever get the chance to see me live or listen to my music, maybe you can come to your own conclusion as to what my influences are. Peace, Aloha, and Mahalo to my true friends and fans!

I'd like to wish you all a wonderful holiday season full of love, laughter, and fond memories with family and friends.
But if you're like me and have an adversity to shopping, crowded malls, and overflowing parking lots, just remember what Christmas is really all about - GETTING presents! Just kidding!
Daniel Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas!
Been thinking about you my friend. I been crazy busy, we are short staffed again. Working in the shop more than my office these days. Tired. Keep an eye on your mailbox in the days to come.
Thank you all so much for your good wishes, positive thoughts, and support! I'm so excited to be nominated as an artist for the first time on "ikena", alongside Tia Carrere. I've been riding on her coat-tails since high school, when I got my first opportunity to play at the Waikiki Shell as her pianist in the Brown Bags to Stardom talent competition! hee. hee. I'm also very happy for uncle Dennis Kamakahi who received his first Grammy nomination as a producer on "The Spirit of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar".
Aloha! Just checking in...I'll be in Hawaii this week and if you're around, come on out and say "Hi" or if you have friends and family in the islands, please help spread the word!
