Killick evolved from two of the three founding members of a Stoner/Thrash band called Caffiend, when an important member lost interest. Abandon most songs in the Caffiend repertoire, Killick took less inspiration from Kyuss and Annihilator the way Caffiend was said to, and strived to emulate the scope of Opeth, with a folk sound in the way of Finntroll, and lyrical content related to the band's homeland of Newfoundland, Canada.
Just as Killick got some shows off of the ground, I (Matt, guitarist) decided to take off to Montreal, to share a rented jamspace with Molt here in Montreal. I regret leaving the most excellent Killick line-up to date just as things got strong, but this city is promising some good chances, and good musicians to help out. And they might even like folk-metal more than home.
Many great musicians have come and contributed, and had to move on for one reason or another, and Killick will always have a huge thanks to it's most prolific members, Mark, Barry, Justin and Tim. These guys made the first shows possible for Killick. Their contribution is only topped by Jill, who's lyricist skills will forever differentiate those cannon Killick songs.
Cheers to all the former guitarists, Barry, Philippe and Boyd.
Major thanks to all the bassists, Justin, Barry (again), Paul, Gordon, Luc, and Rob.
All the singers: Tim, Craig, Tara, and ofcourse Jill!
And the truest Newfie drummer, Doc Phibes.
...Man, there's been alot of people in Killick/Caffiend...
