BIO:
Killpretty was founded in the summer of 99. The style of their music developed from hardcore/rapmetal to timeless, more melodic alternative rock.
All the members have been involved in the local music scene through out their entire lives, so it isn't wrong to say that they have a quite long history in music, despite their young age. They have been making a name for themselves as an energetic live act, and that's why the shows are gathering a lot of young and enthusiastic audience.
In the end of the year '00 , they released their debut demo, titled "You might be better off with someone else, I will never". It got a lot of good review's in the finnish media, and was sold out in short period of time.
In the September of '01, they released a long anticipated EP, "Marching on to the agony's last edge". This record established all the expectations from the fans and the media, and was also sold out quickly. The EP was noticed widely, and it got the band a lot of attention from the media and otherwise, and a lot of gigs.
By it's short lifespan, Killpretty has sold over 1500 records, and 500 t- shirts on live shows and on the internet. All this has happened without any kind of help from record labels etc. Killpretty's only associate is their sponsor, Melodica skateboards.
In the beginning of the year '01, Killpretty started working with Tuukka Temonen (The bass player one of the biggest finnish rockband, Apulanta) As a result our song "The things you said" got placed in a commercial of a finnish pizza chain (Koti Pizza), and the song "the staples" got placed on a cell phone commercial (M-Styler). Both of those ads were on heavy rotation for a month. Killpretty has also been the opening act for Apulanta for six times, and band members Maarik Leppä and Antti Westman appeared on the Apulanta's "Viivakoodit" music video. And as a latest addition Antti Hietala and Antti Westman appeared on the new Sonera's Tolppa commercial.
Killpretty has played over 100 gigs. The biggest ones have been in Nummirock '01 and Tammerfest '01 and '02. Not to mention that Killpretty has also supported Suburbantribe on two venues.
A couple of the band's songs have ended up on a movie sountrack. The film is called Frankenström, and it was released in the whole Europe. Killpretty has also been included on a "blam! Sampler" compilation released world wide.
Their song "No one lives happily ever after" got on the playlist, and was played on a finnish radio station (YleX) for a month or so. In the summer of -02 they recorded a four song promo CD for record companies. In the January of '03 the band recorded two songs more, from which the song "Agent Orange" got selected into a carting broadcast (MTV3) as a theme song. Suprisingly the promo material caught the attention of foreign labels.
Killpretty also hooked up with a Finnish movie production unit MRP. Killpretty's song "All the world has to offer" was featured on their newest blockbuster "Vieraalla maalla". They also made a quality music video out of "All the world has to offer" and included the song on the movie soundtrack released by Universal music.
Now Killpretty has been signed to an indie label called Kapkan Records. Their debut album "The art of letting go" will be released through Playground Music Scandinavia (The Rasmus, Negative etc.) on January 2006.

Hieman julkeaa mainostusta! Ratas julkaisee 4.6.2008 uuden digisinglen "Mustavalkoinen maa". Biisi on lohkaisu syksyllä ilmestyvältä uudelta EP:ltä ja tulee siis nyt myyntiin digitaalisiin kauppoihin kautta maan, lista kaupoista lisätään omille sivuille myöhemmin. "Mustavalkoinen maa" on nyt pistetty kuunteluun Rataksen myspaceen. Sinne ja kotisivuille on lisätty myös uusi tyylikäs musiikkivideo. Käykääpä toki tsekkaamassa ja kommentoimassa!
Pajularock 08 lähestyy! Heinäkuun ensimmäisenä viikonloppuna Sysmässä jo neljättä kertaa järjestettävä Pajularock laajenee kaksipäiväiseksi. Pääkonsertti pidetään lauantaina 5.7. Sysmän Suvisaaressa ja pääesiintyjänä toimii EGOTRIPPI. Tapahtuma potkaistaan käyntiin jo edellisenä iltana paikallisessa Ravintola Uotissa Marko Haaviston ja Poutahaukkojen toimesta.
