we like to think we sound like a lot of different things. if you were to ask us, we'd probably say we sound like:
-the knife
-sonic youth
-muse
-slayer
-shit tons of dollars, and
-the voice of god.
but this is the reality according to our listeners - we've been compared to:
-silversun pickups
-placebo
-explosions in the sky
-smashing pumpkins
-shiny toy guns.
we're not cool enough to be an indie band, too heavy to be a pop group, too dreamy to be heavy metal, too dynamic to be hard rock, too electronic to be rock, too accessible to be shoegaze, too mainstream to be truly considered alternative, not mainstream enough to be pop/rock, we're too flambouyant and noisy to be folk-rock, we're too boring and normal to be glam, we're not miserable enough to be blues, we're too happy to be emo, we're too slow to be punk, and we're not technically proficient enough to be jazz.
Kill Tango has been around in multiple past incarnations (including:the Venus Window, Aelita, Ladder thru Sky, and Fires in Space) since 2006. Over the years we've been lucky enough to play with some really cool people/bands.
