Kill The Romance was founded in Finland in the beginning of the 2004 by Mika Tanttu, Ville Hovi, Tomi Luoma and Antti Kokkonen. In 2005 Raimo Posti joined the group. Kill The Romance rises from the ashes of members previous band. Group performs arrgessive death/trash metal blended with melodic parts.
The band recorded their self-entitled mini-cd in july 2004. It got some great reviews from all over the world. At the same time band signed a one year promotion contract with RiseStar label.
In january 2005 Kill The Romance was chosen from over 150 unsigned bands to play in the Finnish Metal Expo happening. The band also made a fast trip to St. Petersburg in Russia but after that group started to write new material immediately .
In june 2005 Kill The Romance released their 4-track ep “Logical Killing Project”. Press liked it and “Logical Killing Project” gained a good amount of “demo of the month” nominations in different magazines and webzines. After the release band started their first “logical killing tour” in Finland. It contained great gigs eg. in Tuska Open Air metal festival and Nummirock metal festival.
In 2006 Kill The Romance decided to make everything to achieve a record contract. Ep called “Cyanide” was recorded and big promotion “campaign” started. “Cyanide” was chosen to “demo of the month” in biggest finnish music magazine Soundi. Kill The Romance was also chosen from hundreds of demo bands to play in Wacken Open Air Metal Festival’s bands battle final in Finland.
In fall 2006 Locomotive Records inked a deal with Kill The Romance. Debut album Take Another Life was released in March 2007.. Album received a lot of great reviews and was praised in many media. The band started their "tour" with a couple of gigs in Germany and Switzerland, and continued in Finland.
In the end of 2007 and the beginning of 2008 there were some line-up changes. Those didn't slow down the machine of Kill The Romance which continued touring. Same time the co-operation with Locomotive Records ended by the band.
In fall 2008 Kill The Romance recorded a couple of songs with engineer/producer Aksu Hanttu who have previosly worked with eg. Poisonblack, Misery Inc. etc.
As this new stuff is now ready, the band is searching new co-operation partners for the future. |
