UK's Soul Brother Records review: KIM ARRINGTON FIRST LOVE NOTE OF KIM ARRINGTON Very good lyrically strong independent soul album featuring real instruments in a Jill Scott/Kendra Ross style, from North Carolina’s singer songwriter Kim, who possesses a really strong unique voice. The mid tempo grooves ’Love From Your Clothesline’, ’All Said And Done’ ’Washburn’ and ’Hurry On Silly Boy’ are really strong featuring some great keyboard textures. The lilting ’Heat From Another’ and ’Bargaining’ and melancholy ’Front Door’ and ’Wake Up’ are also good. ’Sight Unseen’ has a fuller sound and the more up-tempo percussive ’White Dress’ will get your feet moving. Really nice album.
