Gospel music is my absolute favorite genre, both contemporary and traditional, and the late Luther Vandross will always be my favorite male R & B singer. Whitney Houston is my favorite pop/R&B female artist.
Movies
Some of my favorites are The Color Purple, To Kill a Mocking Bird, Malcolm X, Driving Miss Daisy, Pretty Woman, What's Love Got to Do With It, Forrest Gump and The American President which is one of the last movies my mom and I saw together and enjoyed before she became ill. Actually, I could list so many others but these come to mind immediately.
Television
If I can help it, I try not to miss any episodes of Grey's Anatomy or Private Practice. Of course, I also tape The Oprah Winfrey Show daily, and I watch most episodes of The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch and Larry King Live. Additionally, Will could watch the live version of CNN for hours every day, so I enjoy watching that channel as well.

Her novels have frequented numerous bestseller lists, including The New York Times and those in Publishers Weekly, Essence Magazine, Upscale Magazine, Emerge Magazine, Barnes and Noble, Amazon.com, Wal-Mart, The Dallas Morning News, and The Austin Chronicle to name a few and both BEHIND CLOSED DOORS and CASTING THE FIRST STONE were #1 Blackboard bestsellers for four consecutive months in 1997 and 2000 respectively. In addition, Ms. Roby's first novel was nominated for Blackboard's 1998 and 1999 Fiction Book of the Year Award, and she received the Blackboard Fiction Book of the Year Award in 2001for CASTING THE FIRST STONE. She is also the 2006 and 2007 recipient of the Author of the Year (Female) award presented by the African-American Literary Award Show in New York, the recipient of the 1998 First-Time Author Award from Chicago's Black History Month Book Fair and Conference, and her fifth novel, A TASTE OF REALITY, was a 2004 finalist for the Atlanta Choice Awards sponsored by the Atlanta Daily World. Each of Ms. Roby’s novels have dealt with very real issues---in BEHIND CLOSED DOORS, social status, gambling addiction, and infidelity; in HERE AND NOW, single motherhood, infertility, and sibling rivalry; in CASTING THE FIRST STONE, the first of the Reverend Curtis Black series, corruption within the church; in IT’S A THIN LINE, domestic violence, sexual abuse, and care-giving of a parent; in A TASTE OF REALITY,racial and gender discrimination in the workplace with subplots exploring sexual harassment; TOO MUCH OF A GOOD THING (a sequel to CASTING THE FIRST STONE); in THE BEST-KEPT SECRET, another Curtis Black story, church issues were revisited; in CHANGING FACES, overweight issues, a female illness, damaging secrets and the importance of a devoted friendship between three women; and in LOVE & LIES and SIN NO MORE, the Reverend Curtis Black saga continues.
Ms. Roby resides in Illinois with her husband, Will. Her tenth novel, SIN NO MORE, will be released in January 2008.
My favorite book is Your Blues Ain't Like Mine by the late Bebe Moore Campbell, my favorite Walter Mosley book is The Man in My Basement, and I thoroughly enjoyed and still refer to The Prayer of Jabez and The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success. Instead of always wondering how we can benefit from something ourselves, The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success teaches you to focus on how you can serve or help others and I love that philosophy.

Okay, so I just finished reading "The Best Of Everything". Alicia is truly triflin'! What really blew my mind is how at the very end, she possibly learned an ounce of a lesson, but still hadn't sought treatment. It's not exactly a happily ever after kind of ending and that's why it's perfect. Great work!
Congratulations on your continued success! I will always be your #1 fan. Your literary works are awesome! I can't get enough of them. Continue writing and I will continue reading.
I pray in the name of Jesus that God will bless you and give you the desires of your heart and in the name and power and the authority of Jesus Christ I speak health... prosperity and strength emotionally, physically and spiritually...Bless their family...heal..deliver...save and set free...make every crooked place straight and every rough way smooth and I declare that you will keep them from all hurt harm and danger...we rebuke Satan and every plan...plot...scheme...or demonic activity that will try to come against them or their family and we also thank you for doing it all and we speak and declare it by faith...in Jesus Name we pray....Amen
Much Love...Your Brother in Christ....Fabian D. Falls....www. booksbyfabian. com
