Born in suburban Massachusetts, Kim has been singing since the ripe old age of 5. She taught herself to play piano while in middle school, but didn't pick up a guitar until after college. Driving to work while in her new job as an employment counselor for adults with disabilities, she channel surfed to Emerson College’s radio station WERS, and heard the haunting and heartbreaking song “Iowa (Traveling III)” by Dar Williams. Inspired, Kim decided right then and there that she would learn to play guitar and start writing music.
Kim spent her first couple of years as a “singer/songwriter” performing – under her maiden name, Kim Flynn – at open mike nights in coffeehouses near her hometown in the suburbs of Boston. And then, life happened: career change, marriage, and motherhood. Re-inspired by the writing talent and collaboration happening in the Greater Boston area folk music community, she is writing new songs and recording her first full-length CD.
Kim's homemade EP "Draft" is now available at live shows.

As often is the case we musicians book ourselves on dates that we would love to attend friends shows. Being busy is good....but being free to wander is sometimes better. I know you'll have a great show, but I'll be in Michigan for one of my own. All my best to you!!
Just saw your NECN spot Kim. You nailed it! Great, great stuff. And it was so nice to hang with you and the rest of the crew last night. Can't wait for your debut CD. I know it's going to be amazing!

loved True North tonight...looking forward to October 1st and sharing the stage at Lowell Celebrates Kerouac....always inspiring to hear you play so beautifully and heartfelt
Damn it was great to see you last night! The piano's really working for you-- love it! Thanks for singing phantom backup on my song too. I wish I'd thought of it-- we could have done 3-part harmony. The only problem is I would have burst with joy and that might have been messy. Hope to see you again sooooooooooooooon...
Thanks so much Kim for the kind words and for stepping in on the fly and providing such great back up vocals. You sounded amazing as always, and that newer song you played that I've heard a couple times now, but can't remember the name is just killer! Awesome stuff from an awesome friend. Thank you again. Look forward to seeing you tomorrow night. Cheers!
Oh hi there, thanks for coming out to Tom's and singing with me last night. Thanks for bringing the piano and your beautiful harmonies. Your set was lovely. Looking forward to the next hooligan-palooza. xoxo R
Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm happy you're enjoying my inks.
Re: recorded music: yes! My music space is at myspace.com/m1ss1nglynxband--"hold on" is the only completed original on that page....I hope to change that soon: I'm looking for others who are interested in forming a rock/pop band (think heart.) I have many originals written and would love to collaborate on more....would love to put an original spin on some favorite cover songs, too. Want to record (more) & gig at the very least....touring would be nice.
I know you're in Worcester and you play folk, but if you're interested in meeting halfway & wouldn't mind a different style, I'd be more than honored to collab with you--you're extremely talented!! My husband agrees you have an incredible voice and are an exceptional guitarist!
Thanks so much for stopping by. I wish you much success in all of your musical endeavors and hope to see you again sometime.
