Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Mid-century Modern, The Space/Atomic Age, Charles and Ray Eames, Eiko-artist/costume/set designer, she designed the costumes for Bram Stoker's Dracula and The Cell, she's amazing, Googie/Populuxe, TCM, Dada, Avant Garde, Surrealism, Bauhaus, Busby Berkeley, retro-vintage anything, (especially, the 20's through the 60's).... Some aspects of the 70's.... gotta love those platform boots, shoes and sandals. Thrift stores , flea markets, antique stores. Campy kitsch. Sushi, sake, seafood, ethnic foods. Red wine, white wine, bloody mary's, also, I won't drink coca-cola, unless you put some rum in it, preferably some Sailor Jerry's or Captain Morgan's (OK,that's enough about the libations, I'm starting to sound like a real lush.) Weird, bizzare, strange anything (I just can't help it.) But don't let that scare you, because I'm really down to earth. Something Weird Videos, The paranormal, supernatural, metaphysical, lotsa far out, way out kinds of stuff. Freak shows, sideshows (I also like the banner art.) Victorian houses, Chocolate and candy (jelly belly, jelly beans...mmmmm mmmmm, I have a sweet tooth.) But don't worry....I like my fruits and veggies, too. Ray Harryhausen, before CGI, there was Ray Harryhausen's stop motion animation, special effects. Fun stuff! Reading... of course art books, but also some science, I love reading books about physics, quantum physics in particular, when they are written in layman's terms, fascinating!. Lovable critters of all kinds. Also, most importantly, family and friends!!!My dad, as a teenager.

I love art, design, photography, music and books, yes, I'm a bit of a bibliophile. I love all types of art including lowbrow and outsider art. I love pretty much any and all aspects of design, graphic design, interior design, architecture, automobile design, fashion design, product design, furniture design, set design, costume design, anything well designed...of course I realize that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so what one considers good design, might be purely subjective. I am very liberal and open minded. I love candles and I burn them every night. I have also been making my own scented votives and tealight candles for a while now. I can mix and match fragrances to create new scents...what fun! When I can, I enjoy going roller skating or ice skating. I also love old houses, old buildings and old cars, because they have style, personality and character.
Who I'd like to meet: Marta Beckett..If you have ever seen the movie/documentary Amargosa, then you know who I'm talking about. This woman is amazing, she is a ballet dancer, pianist and artist Just watch Amargosa and you'll understand my awe of this woman. Also, Gaudi, Hundertwasser and Simon Rodia, the man who single-handedly built the Watts Towers in LA. Also, all you artistic and creative types.Marta.....and the "audience" she painted on the walls of her Amargosa Opera House.....and the ceiling too........
This chromolithograph Halloween postcard is from 1912 and has a maker’s mark on the back: a monogram made up of a “B” and an “S” which stands for “Barton & Spooner” of Cornwall-on-Hudson, New York. Barton & Spooner (1906–15) published lithographic regional view-cards, holiday cards, maps, and comics. And, although the postcard is stamped “Made in U.S.A.,” their cards were printed in Germany. Give credit where credit is due.
