BUZZ.............. Kimberly has just been featured in episode 8 of NIP/TUCK 2009. Look for the Kimberly Gordon Trios recording of "Mr. Sandman", as it closes the episode! Also, Kimberlys feature in "Chicago Overcoat" starring Armand Assante, Stacy Keach, Katherine Narducci and Frank Vincent just debuted at The CHICAGO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL. Kimberly acts in and penned an original song for the film Chicago Overcoat titled, "You're Sweet, You're Mine". In theatres Early 2010. Check out IMDB website for more info..... Kimberly has recorded again with SIRENS Records. Two sessions the first on July 2, 2008 and again in January 2010 to document her Hammond B-3 Organ Trio. Featuring Chris "THE MULE" Foreman on HB-3 and Andy Brown on Guitar...she will be capturing the magic made at her 7 year run on Sundays at The Green Mill. IN STORES 2010. Kimberly Gordon is truly a musicians singer....Her dedication to the Jazz Masters, Composers, Lyricists and and their melodies as written elevates her above the rest. A consumate entertainer she has a magical way of engaging her audience........... Whenever the Kimberly Gordon Trio performs, Kimberly literally holds a jazz clinic: she has a unique talent that allows her to sing and tutor her audience simultaneously. She alternates her singing with rich explanations of each song's origin, its context within a particular film, or its relevance within jazz history. Most importantly...........she swings hard......very hard! Chicago native Kimberly Gordon has been a part of the national jazz scene for over fifteen years, playing top venues and receiving high acclaim from critics and musicians. During her four-year stint in New York City, Kimberly's sang at The Village Vanguard, Bradley's and Sweet Basil and regularly at Smalls and Cleopatra's Needle. She shared the stage with jazz greats including Roy Hargrove, Harry "Sweets" Edison, Wynton Marsalis and The Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Betty Carter, Marcus Roberts, Captain Jack McDuff, Von Freeman, and others. Coast to coast jazz fans are thrilled when Kimberly hits the stage. In her hometown Kimberly performs regularly at the Chicago Jazz Festival and at all the hot spots including The Jazz Showcase, Katerina's, The Hot House, Andy's Jazz and The world renowned Green Mill Lounge where she has been holding court for 10 years on Thursdays with The Swing Shift Orchestra and Eight years on Sunday nights (a coveted spot), now featuring her Hammond B-3 Organ Trio with Chris"The Mule"Foreman on the B-3, and Andy Brown on Guitar. Most recently Kimberly has been touring and showcasing her American Composer and Lyricist Series, and Jazz Masters Series. Coinciding with the aforementioned birthdays, she takes the listener on a historical journey through their life and music. George and Ira Gershwin featuring the libretto Porgy and Bess, Harold Arlen, Duke Ellington, T. Monk, Johnny Mercer, Cole Porter, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, and Carmen McCrae are just a small sampling of artists celebrated. Kimberlys' sound reflects the old school style of delivering standards. She is deeply rooted in the ways of the masters always true to the melody as written; this separates her from the rest.
