When the opportunity arose to chase a long awaited dream of becoming a recording artist, KIMBER VANZ knew it was now or never. With the wisdom of investors and producers, her second nature to music, and support of family and friends, there was no where else, in her mind, to go but Nashville. Signed to Platinum Plus Records under the direction of Robert Metzgar, KIMBER knew this was going to be the experience of a lifetime for her.Contracts were signed, songs selected, dates appointed, and before long KIMBER was recording in "Chelsea Studios': home to country music artist, Tom T. Hall. Upon completion of recording, the project was handled by Wayne Hall of 'HallCo Production'. Wayne was in charge of photos, cover art/design, production, and mastering. The moment of truth came in late 2006 when KIMBER held her finished album in her hands.
"Being a new recording artist, this experience has been wonderful and has allowed me to grow as an artist. I'm looking forward to what lies ahead not only with this album, but the hopes of a second one!" she replies.
Although her first album holds no original tracks from KIMBER herself, her raw emotion and seasoned vocal talents shine through in this debut album. One of the tracks, "Leavin' On The Next Thing Smokin'" is written by country music artist, Joe Diffie. The album features a few classics as well as new music.
"I feel very confident with my first project. I feel there is truly something on this album for everyone to enjoy listening to. I hope all music lovers can appreciate that." she says.
The album features a remake of "Almost Paradise" which was a huge success in the eighties and features a duet with her sister. Keeping it in the family sure paid off! With the blend of both voices, it is sure to make this a favorite. Also featured is "I Need A Hero".With a driving steel guitar and rock undertones, this song showcases KIMBER's vocals to a "T".
"I enjoy this song quite abit", she replies. "Close friends and family always comment on how I feel I have to be there for those in need; sometimes sacrificing my own needs to put others first.In turn, sometimes I'M the one in need of a hero. I think it also acts as a reminder to remember those serving. It reminds me to always uphold the highest respect for those who heed the call to defend our country and rights; always value every moment spent!"
Its moments like these which have long defined KIMBER in her personal life as well as an artist. Wether its on stage or CD, her connection with her audience is undeniable. Its been this way since the get go and became more prominent as she gained more through daily stage performance in school.Since then, live performances such as "Jamboree In The Hills", community festivals, and charity events, and opening acts has only strengthened her love and longing for music. Growing up in a little country town in the heart of Ohio has helped teach the basics and fundamentals of a strong,loving, leadership-filled life. These values have followed her through out life as she manages to exude this kind of friendship and kindness towards others. Mix those home-grown country values with raw passion, talent, and a bit of a wild streak, and you have Nashville's newest recording artist: KIMBER VANZ
