| General | I love people and am committed to bringing more joy into the lives of those I come in contact with. I believe everyone has unique gifts, skills and abilities and I help people tap into theirs so they can have a more satisfying life.
I am currently working on my next book called, "Secrets of Successful Couples." If you or someone you know has been in a relationship (not necessarily married or heterosexual) and both partners would say they are still happy and satisfied with their relationship and you think they would be willing to complete an anonymous online survey in exchange for a copy of the book, please let me know. | | Music | I enjoy all kinds of music. I am a classical pianist for my own pleasure. I love R&B music, especially the unique sound of Marcus G "As Requested"
 | | Movies | I enjoy movies. I'm into movies that are either total escapist dramas (these I usually watch with my sons) or the typical "chick flicks." I also like movies that make me think.
  | | Television | I stopped watching television in 2005 when my son went to serve in Iraq for the first time. I don't miss it and in fact, this year, I canceled my cable service. I can't believe how much time I manage to find now in the week to do more productive things. I also don't have to focus on the negativity that is often depicted on the news or the mindless reality tv shows that bombard mainstream television. | | Books | I read daily. I'm not above reading novelists like James Patterson, Nora Roberts and Iris Johansen but my preference is more nonfiction. I read autobiographies of people I like to emulate. I read books on finance, business, diversity, relationships, parenting and self-development. Most of it is research for the work I do and helps me along the way. Of course, my favorite book is written by myself, Leveraging Diversity at Work
I really like Marianne Williamson, Neil Donald Walsh, Debbie Ford, Deepak Chopra, Gary Zukov and Gary Chapman, among others.
| | Heroes | When I was in 4th grade, I had to write a story in school about my hero and I chose Harriet Tubman. I thought she was the bravest woman I had ever heard of. Now, Barack & Michelle Obama are heroes--him for his bravery and her for standing at his side. I also admire anyone who stands for human rights and dignity and speaks out against cruelty and injustice--everyday people. |

I have been involved in the helping profession for over 20 years. Actually, I knew in the fifth grade that I would become a helper to others when many schoolmates would seek me out for advice, typically regarding budding “romantic” relationships. My empathic understanding, supportive manner and practical solutions to problems made me the coach of choice even then.
I am an expert in relationship & personal empowerment. I work with individuals who want to gain more effective control of their lives and relationships, and who would like to achieve greater satisfaction and heightened contentment. What makes my services different from other relationship experts is that I help my clients tap into their internal power source by focusing only on those things they can change, and as a result, my clients become empowered so they can deliberately create the life and relationships they deserve.
I have maintained a private counseling practice and in 2004, decided to move into the field of coaching, where there are a greater number of individuals more highly motivated to make the changes they seek.
