Inspired by the Miles Davis album of the same name that set new standards for improvising with blues, modal, and jazz formats, Kind Of Blue prides themselves on playing unique, creative, and spontaneous arrangements of classics, standards, and originals. Below: at Bethlehem, PA's Musikfest
Recently Kind Of Blue went into the studio to try and capture some of these spontaneous elements. To keep it creative and fresh, like the master before them in 1959, the charts were intentionally kept from view until it was time to record.

Roman on guitar has studied with Pat Martino and toured the US, UK, and Europe. Allan Meyerson from NYC studied with Dave Leibman and Lee Konitz and has done session work with Grammy-nomnated artists. Ray Grimmer on bass has worked with the Brecker Brothers and Bobby Radcliff. Jim Roman on drums toured for the original Jay & The Techniques.
