To ascend from the commonplace in metal is almost treated as a sin. But, not in the opinion of Kinetic Dissent. They are not the average, something new. It is impossible to pigeon-hole Kinetic Dissent in the heap of more-than-average thrash bands because they are constantly trying something new; something that has not been done before. The band started out in early 1987 and not too long after, recorded their very first demo tape, which was called FALL OF INDIVIDUALISM. The band looks back on that tape as "typical". Not too long after, the band started playing live on an average basis and went through some line-up changes. The line-up is as stable as ever with it reading as follows: DWIGHT BALES/vocals, STEVE DANYO/guitar, RICK MACCONNELL/guitar, ED REIMER/drums, and TROY STEPHENS/bass. With this steady line-up the band headed to the studio with producer DONAL JONES, who has produced many ATLANTA area bands including the latest effort from the likes of HALLOW'S EVE. The band returned with a finished product entitled, CONTROLLED REACTION. This demo has received coverage worldwide and has attracted the attention of a few larger independent labels. You hear many people describing bands as the "band of the future". You simply don't understand this term until you have experienced the sounds of KINETIC DISSENT.
