Let’s start at the beginning shall we……
We play sub 3 minute pop songs & are proud of it. We don’t set out to write songs that need 30 plus plays to grow on you. We try to write songs that get inside your head on first listen and stay there. We try to be as original as possible but get loadsa comparisons to bands past and present. Some of them we take as big compliments, some, not so much. We rehearse in a portacabin (it used to be a visitors room in Mountjoy prision!) in a truck yard in North County Dublin. Sounds romantic? It is….kinda. In the last 18 months that we’ve been together we’ve had a ball, worked with some amazing people and played some gigs that I’ll be telling my grand kids about in 50 years. The next couple of months are gonna be very exciting, hope to see yiz soon.
BIOGRAPHY
Touted as "...'kin Brilliant!" by the Irish Times, The Kinetiks have etched out a solid reputation as the cream of the crop of Ireland's most promising breaking buzz bands. Nominated for the 2FM/Meteor Hope For 2008 Music Award, The Dublin based indie-pop rockers, still in their early 20s came together sharing influences from Beach Boys to The Strokes and The Hollies to The Libertines. Confident, charming, giddy and energetic have been used to describe the group's impressive live performances. Lead singer Gaz Harding has been plugged as "amiable and watchable as a frontman can get".
"A Smile'd Crack Your Face" debuted The Kinetiks as an instant radio hit winning airplay from national and regional stations as well as widespread press acclaim. A 2FM session followed, supported by indie champion DJ, Dan Hegarty. The track also brought the band to the attention of Today FM DJ Ray Foley as well as becoming a regular on the playlist of top alternative station Phantom FM in Dublin. Next up was leading Irish indie producer Gareth Mannix (Republic Of Loose/Delorentos/Director) who took over duties for the singles "Shuffle Your Feet" and "Bite The Bullet".
Recorded in Summer 2007 in Grouse Lodge studios, considered Europe's best, the tracks furthered the bands reach, topping the Phantom overall airplay chart and leading to high profile live appearances at festivals including the surf-rock Cois Fharraige with Ocean Colour Scene and Paddy Casey, Castle Palooza, the Trinity Ball, UCD Ball plus support slots to The Enemy, The Young Knives, Delorentos, The Chalets, Neosupervital and New York's Fiery Furnaces. They have also been invited to play media launches for Jameson Whiskey, Becks Fusion, Sonikpollen, the Music Ireland '07 trade show and the IMRO "Best Of Tour" Showcase on the strength of their live reputation. The band have also been invited to play the Oxegen festival in Summer '08.
The Kinetiks have been described as "the best indie band around right now" and as "having REAL breakthrough potential" by leading Irish music industry executives.

"a bundle of raw energy"
(Hot Press)
"while The Enemy performed a blistering set, a new Irish band, The Kinetiks, energised me further still"
(Mail On Sunday)
"a tide of energy, enthusiasm, stinging riffs and hooks aplenty. Write their name on your schoolbag and get the t-shirt now"
"effortless professional charm and streetwise pep…. explodes with nifty riffs that remind of The Undertones as much as The Strokes. It's a real play-on-repeat charmer that goes hand-in-hand with the foursome's rep as a giddy, energetic live band"
(InDublin)
"blistering Strokes-esque riffs, catchy hooks and vocals"
(The Star)
"the quartet's live reputation for enthusing even the most comatose of crowds has seen them booked by promoters all over the city"

Toronto's Indie Week festival is coming to Ireland this July.
Due to the amount of Irish bands applying through sonicbids to play at the Canadian festival this Oct, the organisers have decided to host 2 showcases in Ireland to see the bands live and decide ,through their performances, who should play in Toronto.
The Showcases will be held in The Village, Dublin (July 24th) and Dolans Warehouse, Limerick (July 25th) Due to a limited number of slots for the showcases the bands will be selected for the showcases out of the sonicbids applications.
This is an amazing opportunity for Irish bands to play in front of the Canadian music industry in the heart of the Canadian music capital, Toronto. Last years "Best of the Fest" winners, Ireland's Vesta Varro have gone on to secure a release for their album Exit Here in North America and will be touring this Fall.
