About me:
ALIVE & SCOOTIN' SINCE 1997

The King Beez Scooter Club has it's beginnings in Omaha, NE. It was founded August 15, 1997 by husband and wife team Rodney and Traci Cameron.

For Rodney Cameron it all started sometime in April of 1971. He was just a little military brat living in Puerto Rico with his family. His dad had purchased a shabby Cushman motorscooter from one of the locals. He fixed it up and used it for transportation to and from the base. That's when Rodney was first bitten by the "bug". After moving from Southern California to Nebraska in 1988 he gave up hope in finding an Italian scooter. Then, one summer day in 1993 he set out to the local Honda shop to find some cheap 2-wheeled transportation. As he gazed around at all of the bikes he noticed something familiar in the furthest corner of the shop. At closer inspection he knew it was a Vespa, a 1980 P200e. It was in top shape with only a little over 500 miles on it.

For Traci Cameron her scootermania started when she met and fell in love with Rodney. She'd always ridden on the back of his scooter. In July of 1997 she decided she wanted one of her very own. After acquiring her 1979 Vespa P200e, and riding it for a couple of days, the King Beez Scooter Club attended the "Hard Luck" scooter rally in St. Louis, MO (The weekend of August 29). The weekend of May 23rd they made an appearance at the "Kick Back and Relax" scooter rally. Rodney and Traci were frequent posters on "2 Stroke Smoke", an Internet forum for scooterists. There they met fellow enthusiasts from all over. Due to traveling for his job, Rodney had the opportunity to meet (in person!) many of these people.

If the King Beez Scooter Club has one claim to fame it is their scooter "sightings" list. This comprehensive listing shows scooters used in movies, commercials, and various types of advertising. Although not kept up over the past couple of years, the list remains very impressive.

In 1999 the King Beez Scooter Club was relocated to Lincoln, NE due to Rodney Cameron, one of the founders, obtaining new employment. Since that time the club has continued to grow and help others repair or find scooters of their own. The King Beez Scooter Club website can be found at http://www.kingbeez.net
