Abraham Lynch , Fathead started at a prime age of 14 making friends and family in his community have a nice time dancing and enjoying the good vibes by selecting and blending their favorite, most conscious reggae artists' records on a single turntable. He became recognized and noticeable among many for his strong mind, and with his everlastingly keen interest for the music business in Jamaica his courage grew rapidly. On the Island, when you are a selector, you automatically have a name, or within short you can be almost sure you'll get one, and soon you'll find yourself living in the world of sound systems - The dance hall of Fame.
In Half-Way 3, Uptown Kingston, there is a popular place called Skateland, where Fathead spent a lot of his time skating and listening to reggae music, mixing and mingling with dancers, teachers, choreographers and video makers of the Eighties. Many of them are still at present active agents in the music business.
DJ Fathead got more and more loaded with inspiration and know-how's about the Art of mixing, selecting and operating the system. Deepening his feelings and building up his self-control to greater take charge of his own distinct voice to bring across on the mike the message of to-get-her-ness and overstanding. “ I want to spread the conscious message to my audience, because reggae has a deep message. ” Dj Fathead, Genesis Sound System.
He graduated in the business when he had his first chance to present himself as a single sound operator, selector and MC. This was a dance was held in his nearby community, a suburb of Kingston. A BIG BASH that! After this boom-blast of reggae music rightly so called echoing in the region, the reputation stayed known and grown in the minds of the fans who attended and for those who didn't, they would hear the news! This dance being so successful, it opened many doors for DJ Fathead to extend his musical interest.
DJ Fathead's first sound, Lexus Supreme Sound was born in the beautiful, green and tropical garden parish St Mary in Jamaica. This parish have given rise to many of top reggae's classical singers and Djs; Admiral Tibet , Fireman , Capleton amongst many more. Having his unique tone of voice and the right attitude, it was not surprising when Dj Fathead was asked to play at the Tribute to Garnett Silk and Rebel Salute which was held in the parish of Manchester. This was the building of today's massive annual celebration where roots music is deeply met by nations across the globe.
With GENESIS SOUND , the King rose to a higher rank after making his stamp in the music business. It was the right place for him to find himself. Genesis is for the future. To learn more, to play more and to enjoy the competitions with other sound systems and, most of all, to spread the good vibes amongst the audience. While playing with Lexus, a very popular Radio Dj – G.T. Taylor – spotted Fathead's talent, and further invested some time in promoting him. G.T is Jamaica's best Radio Dj and live artists presenter. With his hints and advice, Dj Fathead got strengthen and encouraged. These treasured moments kept the fire blazing until he decided to travel to Europe.
In 1997, Dj Fathead migrated to Sweden with all his experience and reputation, but he still vent back to Jamaica frequently to show his respect for the music and the scenes where he played with sounds like Stone Love , Metro Media , Jam Rock , Travelers, Renaissance and Bass Odessey , Black Scorpio , Lee's Unlimited , Exodus Newclear and Inner City to mention a few.
What at first had felt to be a hobby, now had created one of Jamaica's most reputable upholder of the music. It is a testament for others who wish to follow the same road as he chose to lightly trod, to reach to where he is standing upright and solid today, doing what he always seem to have done, from the first day he was born to the earth by his beloved mother, to play reggae music and feel happy.
In 1998, King Genesis had a Big Sound Splash at the famous club Mirage , a nicely located venue in Uptown Kingston, Jamaica. An outstanding performance took place in the Genesis department. Dj Fathead unleashed a barrage of dubs in a sound guy head and had the crowd wailing for Genesis. Selector Fathead is known for pleasing the people by satisfying everyone's musical expectations undeniably, yes, excellently nice. No sound escape his judgment! You hear, sound boys! Stand clear!
Today, Fathead, King Genesis, base in Sweden and has been participating in a number of events as well as keeping shows and dances all over Scandinavia and surrounding countries. His style of playing is best described as contemporary dancehall which is warm and energetic. Dj Fathead's “ The Vibes Machine ” wide variety of artists and tunes and the firmness in mixing them enables him to ram any session rated as one of the most outstanding and distinguished firsts. In Scandinavia, Genesis Sound and Dj Fatta-Fire, is the most reputable notebook for reggae music in these regions. GENESIS SOUND performed at the “ UPPSALA REGGAE FESTIVAL - 2005 ” ( www.uppsalareggaefestival.se ) with SKY JUICE SOUND from Dk.
May 2006 ELIJAH PROPHET and KING GENESIS with FATTA FIRE toured Scandinavia (Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö and Copenhagen). In Copenhagen they played with CHUCK FENDA as well.
Fatta Fire have toured in Sweden with the singer/song-writer and producer Horace Corn (see Biography under Artist) with www. TALAWA PRODUCTIONS. com music management company.
