King Belvedere is a four-man rock and roll outfit based in Baltimore, Maryland. In 2002, King Belvedere began playing their first shows to strangers who were instantly drawn to their tight rhythms and upbeat rock and roll. They quickly started to pick up steam with a sound of solid punk derivatives supported by a hard hitting, funk infused rhythm section, coated with pitch soaring vocals that deliver with melodic intent. Fused and holding a lighter, King Belvedere is poised to explode and take over the world.
Formed by singer/guitarist Jeff McKenney, and Drummer Rob Armentrout in the winter of 02 ,then soon joined by guitarist Ken Kimmel, the band began putting together the songs that formed the foundation for the signature sound, that of King Belvedere. Kevin Versak joined within 6 months and within weeks the band began playing a couple gigs a month, developing their live show. Somewhere near their first anniversary guitarist and old friend Josh Ott was added to bring his unique flavor to complete the current and final line-up. All the members in the band have played together and separately under different monikers over the years, except for Jeff, who relocated from New York with the sole purpose of forming a band with longtime friend Rob. Finally, a balance had been reached.
