In 1999-2000 Fusion began mixing house, electro, trance, and drum n Bass music with turntables, during that time Fusion also independently performed at venues between Minneapolis, Madison, Rockford and Chicago, quickly becoming a highly requested DJ in the Midwest.
In late 2001 Fusion moved westward pursuing a change of focus to urban arts including Hip-Hop, R&B, and Reggae. Based in Fort Collins, Colorado, he worked long, hard hours to gain perspective of the hip-hop community. All of this hard work quickly paid off and Fusion started opening for DJ Sabotage from Denver’s KS107.5 and the notorious Radio Bums Marketing & Record Pool. Starting in Fort Collins, CO, Fusion was opening the Saturday Night Street Party at Suite 152, for Sabotage, as well as opening Wednesday night Hip Hop. The music was focused on the hottest urban tracks from the east coast and top 40 hits. It was a smash hit and Fusion pushed forward from there. Gaining new gigs not only in the Fort Collins area, Fusion began expanding into Denver, Co, at local Hot spots Club Purple, The Purple martini, and other Denver locations.
In 2004 Fusion moved back to the Midwest, residing in Madison, WI. Fusion linked up with an established partner, Tauri Robinson aka DJ Fab U Lust, and started up a local DJ community to help support fellow DJ’s and advance the community. This evolved into The Speakerboxx DJz, now the leading mobile DJ Service in Madison, WI. Wednesday through Saturday you can be sure to find Fusion somewhere in Madison’s prolific nightlife, as well as find Fusion’s well known mix cd’s around Madison.
2006 marked the year Fusion became an educator. With DJ Fab’s assistance Fusion was able to teach afterschool programs to Madison’s high schools and middle schools. The programs focuses on teaching kids fundamental DJ skills, music composition, studio software, and how to make DJing a career. The program is now in it’s third year.
In 2008 Fusion marked 2 more milestones in his career. Early in 2008 Fusion was nominated for “DJ Of The Year” at The MAMA’s, Madison’s Annual Music awards Ceremony. In may Fusion’s hard work payed off yet again, and Fusion won and accepted the award for 2008 “DJ Of The Year”. Late in 2008 Fusion also started on air at WJQM 93.1 FM (formerly 106.7 FM) and hosts a 2 hour weekly mix show, aired in Madison and the Surrounding area’s that can be heard Friday nights from 11pm-1am on 93.1 Fm or online @ www.madisonjams.com . Fusion’s show quickly became the hottest mixshow in Madison! The Show also features Dj Brook & is hosted by jamz personality Scotty mac. The show is steadily going into it’s 2nd year on air with no looking back.
Again in early 2009 Fusion as nominated a 2nd time for Madison’s “DJ of the Year”, and won it for the 2nd consecutive time in May 09. Fusion is currently the only DJ in Madison to win the title twice, let alone consecutively, and will be aggressively defending his title for 2010! During the summer of 2009 Fusion’s mix cd’s have created such a buzz that he joined the Coast2Coast Mix Tape DJ’s Coalition, and puts out monthly mix Cd’s for Coast2Coastmixtapes.
Fusion has opened for and or worked with, Sammie, Stat Quo, Grandaddy Souf, Yung Berg, Murphy Lee, Day 26, Ludacris, Chingy, G Unit, Zion I, mac lethal, Cappadonna, Rosco, Fred Knuxx, Felicia Alima, DJ Abilities, Brett Michael, Silk Ski, & more. Fusion has mixed on the following radio stations, WJQM (93.1/106.7), WSUM (91.7), WESE (103.9), Transmission FM, and other various stations.
