The music of King Ludd is barebones acoustic mayhem. It's a brew of infectious songs, danceable energy, and impressive musicianship. Every King Ludd performance aims to incite a foot stompin', acousti-sonic revolution! When you hear King Ludd for the first time, you’ll swear you’ve heard their songs before. That’s because King Ludd plays timeless original and tasty traditional old time, bluegrass, and country songs. King Ludd also draws from international traditions, ranging from African to Greek to Gypsy and Irish. From the get-go, you’ll be humming King Ludd’s songs like you’ve known them all your life. Their songs will stick in your craw all day long. And when you talk about King Ludd--and you will--you will likely say that King Ludd is rousingly reminiscent of Old Crow Medicine Show and The Wilders, with a bit of a worldly flair.
King Ludd is an acoustic trio hailing from Seattle and Bellingham, WA. King Ludd is Scott Miles, Kat Bula, and Aaron Harmonson. Their combined experience as gigging musicians spans several decades. Their musical talent spans numerous instruments and countless styles. Scott is the trio’s primary songwriter, singer and source of melodic infection. He backs each song up with his instrument-busting attack on clawhammer banjo, acoustic guitar, Irish bouzouki or mandolin. Kat infuses the trio with the fire of her fiddle, classically trained with a passion for bluegrass and folk. Kat will also break out the high lonesome tenor harmonies. Aaron's upright bass playing is the heart of the band, holding it all together and driving each song forward with a soulful sensibility.
