King Sauce is a "novelty-pop" project out of Columbus, NJ headed by Richie Chodes. Combining 70's am radio, 60's pop, and a touch of vaudeville, King Sauce creates catchy tunes with silly, tounge in cheek lyrics ala Randy Newman. Aptly named for a Burger King condiment, King Sauce sometimes borders on the offensive but all in the name of fun! Picture the Monkees meet Weird Al and you'll get the picture. They have released a 7" vinyl EP for hhbtm records in 1999, a split vinyl EP for Obtuse records in 2001, and a full length cd "Please don't change the channel" for hhbtm records in 2002, as well as various compilations. Richie Chodes also was the bass player/keyboardist for the Elephant 6 based "Vince Mole and his Calcium Orchestra" headed by former Apples in Stereo guitarist Chris Parfitt.
Update: King Sauce will be releasing a Holiday EP next Christmas 2008, possibly on vinyl, consisting of 4 unreleased songs from the "Cancelled" and "PLease dont change the channel" sessions. They may also be playing the Toledo Indie pop festival this summer. Stay tuned!

Chris, from IndiePages, wrote: "It's been a while since the last Kingsauce record, but he's found a new home with our good friends at Little Pocket Records (who did a good job assembling a nice-looking package!)."

Optical Atlas' Jeff Kuykendall said, "The album revealed his true concept for Kingsauce as a satirical guitar-pop band, singing about 70’s sitcoms and films while channeling, so to speak, the music of the same period."
