  • Bio

Myspace doesn't really have a music category to fit us. Most people call us a swing band but we have elements of rockabilly, rock&roll and jump blues. One reviewer called us a "jump-blues band...that mines the brief period when swing was turning into early rock'n'roll." Whatever we're called, the music we play is fun, upbeat, and danceable. Drop us a line and let us know what you think. ********************************************************************* Three core members met at work. Started playing together in late 2000. Recorded a six song demo of covers. Sound leaned towards rockabilly and jump blues. First gig, May 2001. Played little smoky clubs. Lead singer heard a Louis Prima compilation and Prima become a major influence on our sound. Caught the interest of local swing dancers and started playing dances in 2002. Recorded a six-song cd in early 2003 called Short Stack. CD had four originals on it. Started getting some summer festival type gigs in 2003... Currently the band plays out a couple of times a month. Usually that includes a swing dance somewhere in the dc area. In the summer and fall we play numerous outdoor community events and festivals. We get asked to play private events too, like weddings and birthday parties... We always trying to work up new original material when we can. We've been in the studio a number of times with an eye on getting out a full length cd soon.
