KINGVEGAS is a St. Louis-based cover group that performs a wide variety of material from R&B to funk to rock to pop to jazz. They perform in clubs and for private events all over the St. Louis area. KINGVEGAS features KINGVEGAS aka John Kiehne on the Warr Guitar and vocals and Michelle E on vocals and percussion as well as some of St. Louis' best drummers and horn players.
KINGVEGAS has played in many groups playing many different styles and toured the US many times as well as playing thousands of local gigs in northeastern US and St. Louis. KINGVEGAS' first original group that he could call his own is called Smokstik. Smokstik was born in Boston in 1995. Featuring VEGAS on Warr Guitar and vocals, Smokstik put out a CD called "Bugs" on the Supergod Recordings label in 1998. Bugs is available worldwide in stores and online at CD BABY. Smokstik also features Webster University grad St. Louis native Smokin' Joe Meyer on the drums. This group has played shows with the likes of the Jazz Mandolin Project, Project Object, Colin Hay (Men at Work), the Pushstars, Jim's Big Ego and many others. John is currently working on material for a new SMOKSTIK CD that will hopefully be out sometime this century to be called SMOKSTIK II.
