Born in the beautiful island of Jamaica, Da-kingz' members-Crimz [ Kadean Dunbar] and Exo [ Brian Abisdid],both attended Ardenne High School where they would spit their music after school and during lunchtime, banging on tables and having lyrical clashes over instrumentals. Music was something that was innate for them. Da-kingz couldn't see themselves doing anything else other than music, the "suit and tie" ting is just not for them.
Da-kingz style of music is dancehall/reggae mixed with a heavy influence of hiphop and their songs contain catchy hooks and good lyrics. Their flow is greatly influenced by hip-hop which creates a unique and interesting sound when mixed with various dancehall riddims.
Dakingz' musical carrier started about 2years ago when they started booking themselves at clubs like Weekendz, Backyard and Village Café in order to get some exposure , build contacts and get stage performance experience. They have performed at a couple street dances, as well as, participated in a small high school tour with clothing brand Cooyah , performing at schools like JC. Since then, Da-Kingz have been hard at work in an attempt to get their music career on the road. They are now working with several upcoming producers such as Illicit, Piere Charles & X-axis, in the dancehall industry, and have already shot 2videos, one of which is titled "get frass" and is soon to hit the tv, radio and the streets.
