I love to write, and have two pieces of published poetry though I seem to have had a bit of a creative pause recently... You can always go to http://kinkabell.deviantart.com/
to check out my odd bits I've put on there if you like
I enjoy reading and watching DVDs - Lord of the Rings books are much better than the films and Harry Potter 3,4&5 have shown the same, but I did not rate the first two books, so they were the reverse. As the other two published books have not yet been released as films I cannot comment.
I'm the treasurer of the university band society at York and this means I am involved with lots of music-y stuff which keeps me happy and busy, running around trying to sort things out and make sure we've got enough money to do things with... Also I like to watch martial arts, used to do Shotokan Karate and similarly enjoy to watch most forms of dance as I used to do a lot of that too
I've recently taken up Poi and I really really enjoy it though I can't do much - what I can do I do rather well!
I like most kinds of music, and I'm not good at genre-ising it really, what I don't like is most of the RnB/HipHop out there - Firstly because RnB used to stand for Rhythm and BLUES not bass... now Blues, there's a fine type of music. Add to this rock, motown, 90s dance, acoustic, industrial and some metal (not so much hair-metal/cockrock) and I reckon you'd be able to fit my music collection into that.
And, of course, these wonderfully talented people vvv
Movies
Well, I like most kinds of movies except Chick Flicks, they're false, annoying and just plain boring...
Favourites include: Shawshank Redemption, Green Mile, Labyrinth, Event Horizon, Matrix, Flight Of Dragons, Howl's Moving Castle, Nightwatch (Nochnoi Dozor), Sin City...
If it's not CSI, 24 or something else cool like that, or a documentary or science program then I'm pretty much uninterested...
except the NUFC match highlights and I don't mind watching England play either, provided I'm in a pub
I love reading Tolkien (was reading LoTR as a kid and loved them then and like them a lot now too) also think that Harry Potter 4, 5 & 7 were excellent, 3&6 less so, but not as bad as the first two! Stephen King is brilliant for when you don't mind nightmares or crying (Green mile) and I love classical literature, like the Aeneid (yet to read it all), the Odyssey (over halfway through) etc. I can read any one of the Chronicles of Narnia in one night and they are very uplifting, even with their christian undertones, you needn't necessarily include those in your reading aspect. For when I want reassurance that there's people in this world with my bizarre sense of humour and strange thought processes you can't really beat Terry Pratchett - Soul Music and Reaper Man are my faves and I need to get my own copies of each of those...
Heroes
My family are my heroes - My Mam, Daddy and my big sister Mariko, they are all amazing in their own ways and I love them all more than I can say. Without them, I wouldn't be half the person I am now and I know that they're always there if I need them, and I for them. That's what family is about.

About me: Well, I'm small and I sing a lot. I'm looking to get into a band at the moment actually - so if you're in the York area and looking for a female singer, drop me a message on here and I'll get back to you. I'm studying Chemistry with Management at York Uni and I love it - I have a really cool group of friends and the course isn't too bad as long as I actually do my work, lol If you want me to add you then send me a message so I know why
I hate the cult of celebrity and the propagandous nature of our media - I say be who you are and be happy with it, treasure what you have and if there are things YOU want to change, not things you feel you should change, then take time to see if you'd still be you if you changed them. I love watching live music and I love to dance (not like proper, just like in clubs n things, but I'll dance on a stage or in a cage if there's one available...) I have a darling nephew who I'm posing with in one of my pictures he's now almost 2 n a half and really sweet
I also love my boyfriend Ash very lots (hehe), he is my star and I don't know what I'd do without him
You Are More Mild Than Wild
You're confident, and you really aren't concerned with how "hot" you are.
Other people's ideas of what's sexy don't concern you. And this is exactly what makes you attractive.
You scored as Mermaid. Mermaid: Mermaids are also known as Sirens. These creatures were beautiful women who tricked sailors into becoming completely entranced by their haunting voices and found death soon after. Not all stories of Mermaids are about gentle loving sea people. They are mystical, magical, and extremely dangerous. They have a way about them that brings anyone they are around to seem enchanted. They are very mysterious creatures and to meet one... Would mean certain Death. Let the song of the Sea fill your soul, for you are a Mermaid.
Who I'd like to meet: People who want a female vocalist for their band, or who want to start a band and are living in the York area
Nice friendly people to be friends with on the net and in the local area... perhaps even further afield...
People who like similar music to me, or similar films (yes, you'll find me on flixster too), people who do a similar degree to me or go to York Uni, people who are kool...
But not axemurderers - you do NOT qualify as nice people...
I said this before because people who try to add me obviously don't get this far, but still, If you want me to add you then send me a message so I know why - it's rude not to and you're likely to just get your request binned having annoyed me by your lack of net-iquette Oh, and just because I'm Bisexual doesn't mean I want to sleep with you and your other half... I'm perfectly happy with my boyfriend as well and we have quite enough fun on our own, thankyou.
Hiya how you doing? We've not done a show in York in ages so....

I'll try to sort a weekend in York as soon as my finances are a bit more stable - probably gonna be short on cash for the next couple of months thanks to bils and stuff at home, sadly!
Hey sis! Long time no speak! How's everything in Pixieland? Are you going to be back in the area anytime in the near future? We're overdue a a drunken gossip, methinks!
Aloha! We're playing York again on the 29th of Jan (just over a week's time) with a stunning band called Random Hand. Would be awesome if you could come along and join us =) Click the image below and print off the flyer to get in for just £3 on the door!!! You know it makes sense ;) Hope you're well, Steve

Excellent points, well made. I suppose I should be grateful that I have a job that allows me sit and type overly-wordy diatribes about just how bloody bored I am, rather than one that might expect me to, y'know, actually do some work. The weekend should be interesting, too - I'm off to a one-year-old's birthday party tomorrow! The pulling opportunities may be sadly limited, but for once I can guarantee I'm probably a better dancer than most of the other guests. Go me! Love you, sis. xXx
That's great news about the new man in your life hun - really glad you're happy! I'll definitely be up for getting together in September, too - I've missed you! Speak to you soon, sis. Loads of love, Dill. xXx
