KinkySound è il primo sound napoletano, nato circa 12 anni fa , la sua sede è lo storico reggae club Kinky Bar, nel ventre di Napoli.
"Diffondere la vibrazione reggae nel mondo" è il suo scopo, così Kinky Sound è anche coinvolto in una intensa attività di produzioni e promozioni. Dal 1994 ad oggi Kinky conta numerose produzioni con i più grandi artisti della reggae music. Quando il 9 luglio 1999, poco dopo la scomparsa della leggenda Dennis Emmanuel Brown, Frankie Paul & Sugar Minott al termine di un memorabile show della rassegna Kinky Reggae on the Beach 99 intonarono un lungo e toccante medley in memoria dell'artista scomparso loro amico di infanzia e principe del reggae, si è forse toccato uno dei più alti e memorabili momenti della storia di Kinky Sound & Promotions. Quando invece il 17 giugno 2005 sul litorale di Coroglio David Rodigan ha letteralmente fatto impazzire per più di quattro ore una folla di più di 2.000 persone coinvolgendole in un'atmosfera di pura festa quale molto raramente capita di gustare, si è assaggiato in pieno il vero spirito di pace e di festa che permea la storia del Kinky Soyund. In tutti questi lunghi anni dopo vari cambi di formazione e collaborazioni illustri le dancehall del Kinky Sound continuano a mantenere la freschezza di un tempo arricchite dalla maturazione dei suoi selecter e dall'enorme crescita dell'archivio di musica che Kinky Sound può permettersi di suonare. Kinky è stato presente sempre in tutti i più importanti eventi reggae nella città di Napoli. Kinky per scelta, fino ad oggi, è formato da soli selecter ed mc, non presenta in formazione, cantanti rappers o dj, preferendo servirsi quando necessario di soli artisti internazionali come il dj General Levy o il singer Anthony Johnson.
Kinky Sound is the first sound from Napoli, born 12 years ago resident in the mighty Kinky Bar club in the center of Napoli. Its purpose is promoting reggae vibe in the world so Kinky is also involved in productions & promotions. Since 1994 Kinky works with the greatest reggae arists. When in july 1999 Frankie Paul & Sugar Minott after a great show of the festival Kinky Reggae on teh Beach 1999 performed a touching tribute to the disappeared Dennis Emmanuel Brown, friend of them since childhood and prince of regge music Kinky Sound & Promotions touched one of its highest hights. When in june 2005 on the beach of Coroglio David Rodigan burned more than 2,000 people the spirit of peace and party wich is the essence of the story of Kinky sound was there at its top. After many years and many changes in the crew Kinky Sound's dancehalls add to their typical freshness the growing skill of its selecters and the weight of its impressive musical archive. Kinky is always present in the most important reggae events in its town. Kinky Sound chooses to be formed by selecters and mcs and not to have singers, djs or rappers in its crew, when necessary Kinky Sound prefers to act in combination with international artists such as General Levy or Anthony Johnson.
