KINTRAL
The band was born after a proyect called In Limine, where Juan Quinteros (voice and guitar) used to played. It was based in lugubrious and ambient music sounds. Then Felipe Leighton (synthesizers) joined the band in 1998. At this time they became KINTRAL and then some demos were recorded. Because of the influences, black metal, metal in general and classical music, the sound was a symphonic and progressive black metal. At this point the band instinctively realized that the extreme music will be the pillar of its natural sound. And they would have to add something extra to capture clearly what they want to acomplish or express. KINTRAL recorded its first EP, Nocturna (2000) via indie, but it was never released. After some changes in the line up and many rehearsals, Andrés Olivares (bass) joined the band. With this current line up, they signed with Picoroco Record. After a short time, They entered at the studio to record its debut LP, Catrala (2002), which is based in the childhood of a controversial chilean character. After a constant evolution to something colder and violent (lyrics and music), in the year 2003, KINTRAL recorded the second album, "INTROVERSION from insane scenaries". It has more mechanical and heavy sounds that the previous CD, and it's not a symphonic black metal any more like at the beginning. Nowadays, the band has a stable line up, with its new drummer, Lucas Ledesma, who also participated in the first album. In the other hand, KINTRAL is promoting "INTROVERSION...", they already filmed a video for the song 'Inner Requiem', produced by Jean Pierre Cabañas (www.medu1a.tv), also realizer for the album's artwork, and a live video for the song 'An Inversion from Insane Scenaries'.
La banda nace de un proyecto que tenía Juan Quinteros (voz y guitarra), llamado IN LIMINE, el cual estaba basado en sonidos lúgubres y ambientales. A este se le une Felipe Leighton (sintetizadores), por el año 1998. En este tiempo ya formados como KINTRAL y con algunos demos de prueba grabados, el sonido de la banda era un black metal sinfónico y progresivo, ya que al pensar en formar la banda las principales influencias eran las escuelas del black metal, el metal en general y música docta. En esta etapa la banda asume que por instinto es la música extrema el pilar de lo que sería el sonido natural de la banda y a este había que darle aportes extra para poder plasmarlo con más claridad. KINTRAL graba su primer EP, NOCTURNA (2000) grabado independientemente y que nunca llegó a su comercialización. Después de algunos cambios en la alineación y constantes ensayos llega Andrés Olivares (bajista actual), con lo cual KINTRAL firma contrato con Picoroco Record. Y al poco tiempo entra a grabar su primer LP, CATRALA, (2002), el cual está basado en la infancia de un polémico personaje chileno. Después de una constante evolución hacia algo mas frío y violento ( lírica y musicalmente ), el 2003 KINTRAL graba el segundo LP "INTROVERSION from insane scenaries" en el cual se encuentran sonidos más mecánicos y pesados que en la placa anterior, alejándose un poco del black metal sinfónico de sus inicios . . . Actualmente la banda tiene una formación estable, cosa que no ocurría desde los primeros años de la banda, con su nuevo integrante en la batería, Lucas Ledesma, quién además participó en el primer disco. Por otro lado, KINTRAL se encuentra realizando la promoción de INTROVERSION..., para lo cual ya cuenta con un video clip para el tema 'Inner Requiem', realizado por Jean-Pierre Cabañas (www.medu1a.tv), también realizador del arte del disco, y otro de una presentación del grupo en vivo para el tema 'An Inversion from Insane Scenaries'.
