Interpretation:
The thought behind the Kipe name derived from years of listening to mainstream musical garbage. The thoughtless empty lyrical and musical representation of the “Gen X & Y” era has simply driven them to bring back what so many great bands had given them before. They are not the thieves of riches, but the thieves of the apocalyptic energy within each individual.

History:
Kipe is young, fresh, and melodically energetic. The band is just under 2 years of age, with the first transformation happening around the 1-year mark with the replacement of their lead singer. Jerry Drouin, a veteran vocalist from the Southern Maine area stepped-up, and delivered an incredible audition unlike any they had seen on their musical paths. Jerry’s attitude, and aptitude, has engrained their brotherhood of metal. The remaining members of Kipe have an incredible history together starting in the early 80’s. Three of the members are brothers, and ironically each had their first instrument at the age of 13.
It wasn’t until 2004, after breaking from the band scene and performing solo projects, that Tim Killer invoked each of the metal clan to begin what is now known as Kipe. “You see, there’s always one person in a band that destroys the band, and that person just doesn’t have the passion; without it they will always fail”, exclaimed bassist Jeff Killer. The three Kipe members made a pact to only hire a singer that not only has the talent, but could also click with the band. Kipe is certainly what they claim to be: The Brotherhood of Metal.
