I got to know music through and with computers, very thankful for computers, great tools like the hammer or a soldering iron.
My music : fast, slow, theatrical, absurd, beaty, cheerful, - you can fasten many planks together when you know your hammer.
In 2001 I handmade around 50 copies of a neat little record and sold in 12 tonar Reykjavik
In 2002 Kitchenmotors record label - led by Johann Johannsson, Hilmar Jensson and Kristin Bjork (Kira-Kira) released HUGGUN - I toured in the US with mum a bit, shy and stressed out but had a really good time.
2004 - Another homemade album, a double CD, 7 songs and 4 videos - big ideas, lots of stuff, fun to make.
2005 - A good friend steps in and together we make HAPPENS SECRETLY - available on www.smekkleysa.net and soon on CdBaby -
This is a mixed media painting that I created with recycled 'trash'. The trash has become *treasure*. Now instead of throwing it 'away', we can *keep* it!! Best, Amelia
