Kirby's Beer Store was established in 1972 by Jim Kirby, who set out to develop an entity that to this day has endured and evolved into one of the most collective gatherings of Musicians, Artists, Hipsters, Heads, Thinkers, Freaks, etc. Please take the time to look over some of the memories taken from within. If you're a regular, you'll probably find yourself engaging in Kirby's splendor (taking off your clothes, drinking way too much, and fighting the next day to remember if you made an ass of yourself.) Never been before? Don't have any idea what the hell a "Kirby-ite" is! Well that's what this page is about. Go ahead, "find yourself" in the photos that follow. As you sit alone in the dark, think, "That place sure does look like Valhalla." Pretend you’re a favored one! Smell the cigarettes and feel the bass in your ear canal. Remember, Kirby's is not for everyone. But if generally good bands, mostly cold beer, bartenders with attitudes (especially the gay one) and a whole gaggle of really great people are what you're after, then drop on in. There is always room for JUST ONE MORE STORY. If anyone out there has something to add, i.e.. pictures, thoughts, comments, links etc. Kirby related or not, please let us know and we'll stick it in. I need to hear all bands that intend on playing Kirby's, this means headliners, openers or anything in between.
