While attending Central Michigan University (1993-1998) she played many local venues (The Bird, The U-Cup, XA House, and many a dorm room lobby) as well as led worship for FCA and XA. A highlight was opening for 100 Portraits in 1997.
While playing a venue at the XA House on University Ave in the spring of 1996 her powerful voice and presence captured the attention of Kirk Priest even though they had been singing together since the fall of 1995. He declared to his friends he would one day marry this angel. Kirk and Amy performed publicly together for the first time spring 1996 at the University Cup in Mt.Pleasant, MI.
Kirk made his stage debut in 1976 at the age of 3 while standing on top of a piano in church. College (1991-1996) brought opportunity to learn guitar and improve his songwriting skills. He began leading worship at XA summer of 1992 and formed a band, together with his cousin Don Priest (www.myspace.com/djohnworship). After exiting the band in 1994 he made his international debut in Bonn, Germany, March, 1995.
Amy and Kirk led worship for their first major student conference in summer 1999 at War Week in Lafayette, LA. They led the XA Worship Band at the first World SALT in Los Angeles, CA New Year's 2001 with 2500 in attendance. Amy, called the "Pregnant Princess on Guitar" by Ben Pasley, because she was 6 months along, played back up Acoustic guitar and vocals for 100 Portraits at the New Years Bash. Kirk took pictures from the front row and clapped along.
Fall 2002 they moved to Berlin, Germany. Currently leading worship and doing student gigs across Europe.
