(KISSING PAT OFFICIALLY ON HIATUS) While still in college, guitarist Shaun Kissing and pianist Pat Donohue were introduced to one another because of their mutual passion for music. After an initial jam session, they instantly recognized their uncanny musical alignment. Aspiring for an opportunity to play live as soon as possible, they auditioned to perform as a duet at a local venue. After they were awarded the time slot, they spontaneously combined their two names to create the impulsive, yet memorable band title. With Pat’s background as a classically trained pianist and Shaun’s strong rock influence, the duo sought a stellar vocalist that could exude an unmatched stage charisma yet still complete the missing creative component. Thus, they recruited singer Brad Barnes – poet, entertainer, and “Freddy Mercury enthusiast.” Synergizing their three unique skillsets, the songwriting efforts began. After bringing in bassist Sean McGill and percussionist Jason Melling, Kissing Pat has played together for nearly three years, performing in dozens of venues in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. They have also triumphed in band songwriting competitions, received several favorable media reviews, and to date have gained one reputable radio interview in 2008. The culmination of their efforts resulted in their fun, upbeat and popular single, "The Cyclist." However, varying aspirations and ultimately separate paths led the band to officially retire after their Halloween performance on October 31, 2009, representing four outstanding years together. Even though Kissing Pat may have concluded its run as an entity, if you love their music be sure to keep an eye for epic side projects already in production...
