Мы не помним, какая была погода. Мы не помним, что было в проигрывателе, хотя, наверное, тогда играли The Make-Up. Хотя это мог быть Серж Гейнсбур или Pavement. Мы записали несколько песен, свели кассету и сделали флаеры с голыми теннисистками для нашего первого живого выступления в Sonntagsbar на Мариенштарссе в центральном районе Берлина, Митте, в 1999 году. Мы так и не выпустили свой первый альбом. Наша первая выпущенная запись была 'If I Had Known This Before'; и она оказалась успешна, в основном на техно-сцене. Однажды ночью Себастьян заказал себе виски и, когда бармен разбавил его редбуллом не спросив, мы поняли, что с нас хватит. Мы чаще играли вместе с другой нашей группой, The Sitcom Warriors. Мы выступали под именами "Don Multisex" и "The Blood Boys". И мы выпустили поп EP "I'm Absolute" на гамбургском лейбле Buback-Tontrager. Он не был успешным, но лучшим, что мы сделали на тот момент. Мы репетировали в моей гостиной, к нам постучался сосед и сказал, что наша музыка слишком "циклична". Мы часто давали концерты тогда. Едва ли бывало выступление, на котором мы были трезвы. Мы написали "Forsaken People Come to Me" и "Cool Kids Can't Die", и нас восхваляли. Фанат написал огромными буквами слова "Cool Kids Can't Fly" на стене в Иерусалиме. Большинство песен приходило между 12 и 4 AM...
