The music of the Kitbuilders can be described as Electro with SciFi-Punkrock-Energy and a grebo edge. A remarkable element in the tracks are the vocals of Ripley. In the Kitbuilders-cosmos you will also find the Sparks in their Moroderphase, Chris and Cosey, Neu and Devo. After a handful of 12" singles and compilation appearances on labels like Electrecord, World Electric, Breakin..Records, Vertical and Ersatz Audio , "Wake Up" is the debut full length from the Cologne-based duo. The US magazine "XLR8R" called it "...an excellent hybrid of the past and present". Alongside American outfits like Adult. and Fischerspooner, Kitbuilders are at the forefront of the worldwide electro revolution. Equal parts Moroder and Liquid Sky, the duo of Benway and Ripey fluctuate between adrenaline-rush bpm 909 beats, fluttering sci-fi arpeggiations and tense, sinister moodiness. The Jockey Slut wrote: ... en-compassing bonkers electro pop, dark and hard electro Electro with guts, pop with personality...". Last releases include an exclusive track on the "Misery Loves Company" Compilation (Ersatz Audio/Detroit,) the "In The Year 2525" 12" on Television Records, a split 12" on Art Of Perception with John Starlight aka Zombie Nation) a remix of the Lectronix track "Motorbike" feat. Man Parrish (Throb Rec.NY) and a special rerelease of the "Wake Up" album with two extra tracks on Kinetic Arts (Miami) Video artists like Bibi Abel (Cologne), Eva Vasquez (Spain) and John Dawson (Dawsonix/UK) created great video interpretations of Kitbuilders trax. Check out the Bad Girl video by Dawsonix (www.kitbuilders.de). The "Wake Up" video by Eva Vasquez won a lot of awards at international film festivals.
Other Kitbuilders activities include the collaboration with artist Eric Robert Parnes. The Kitbuilders did a lot of kicking live shows including the SONAR Festival in Barcelona; Fun/New York, Circuit Cabaret/San Francisco, Roskilde Festival (Den), Alive Ferstival (B), WMF Club/Berlin, Haywire Sessions at Turnmills and Fabric/London, Eurosonic Festival/Groningen (NL), Dedbeat Festival/Norfolk (UK), Turbo/Helsinki, Bergen/Norway, Oslo, Loft/Barcelona, Dynamo Dvash/ Tel Aviv, Istanbul, Benicassim Festival/Valencia, Standart Festival/Madrid.

As we approach the anniversary of broadcasing MANTIS for 2 years and reflecting on all the great showcases so far provided we have another sterling selection to add to that ever growing list from the Glasgow based producer Galaxian.
SHOWCASE Galaxian has been making music on and off for roughly 12 years. Within the last year and a half he has been producing electro style beats and during that time has knocked up a few releases on a number of different labels.
His influences come more from Techno and IDM styles than your more traditional electro. This results in his electro having a different flavour from what you’ve come to expect in that style. He is constantly striving to being new ideas and sounds to his productions whilst maintaining that strong sense of danceability. It’s also got to always be fresh and funky he says.
His showcase for MANTIS combines some 221 layers/tracks of sound with him estimating 75% of the set being made exclusively for MANTIS. Of which I’m honoured.
With forthcoming releases on Z-Bop and Solar One Music and more, this man’s music is something you need in your life.
