Kitchen Party is an intimate underground dance party that started in London in early 2007 and is based on the concept that a good house party always seems to end up in the kitchen. Celebrating the best underground house and techno music..... .... Kitchen Party was never really planned, it just sort of happened....... .... Years of going to house parties made us realize that everyone seems to naturally congregate in the kitchen which is no surprise. The kitchen is a place that every human being on the planet can relate to; a room where people come together. So we started throwing parties in our own kitchen and invited some of our dj friends around to get involved. Now, Kitchen Party has hosted events in some of the finest venues in London and beyond..... .... And it is our deep love of electronic music that drives the project. We are dedicated to giving the artists an intimate platform through which to express themselves. Getting all the variables right to create a space for that to happen has always been our primary focus..... .... From the get go, this wasnt your average house party however; we had a great sound system, carefully planned lighting and a unique kitchen/garden situation at our home in north London. Word about our monthly get-togethers started to spread and to our surprise and absolute pleasure we began to receive requests from some of the most prolific djs on the underground scene to come and play the show and be part of it..... .... Alongside our talented resident djs, weve had visits from King Roc, Giles Smith, Reboot, Will Saul, Berkson & What, Alison Marks, The Fix, Christian Martin, 2000 and One and Glimpse LIVE just to name a few. With line-ups like that we knew we had something really special happening and it has been incredible to watch it spawn into the party project it is today..... .... What has always been intrinsically special about Kitchen Party are the people who come to the sessions. From the beginning, a solid and inspiring core group of friends would come along and have been part of building Kitchen Party. There's no way we could fit any more people into our house, believe us we tried! So we began taking the party Out of the Kitchen and into venues...always striving to keep that intimate groovy vibe..... .... As the project evolves; moving into its new home in east London, launching the next level in Kitchen Party broadcasting as well as our series of Out of The Kitchen sessions, we remain dedicated to a grassroots approach; KP is first and foremost about the music and the talented folks who make it, play it, and share it with us. Soon, Kitchen Party launches with its web casting; an interactive blog with news about our events, as well as coverage of our beloved scene from KP friends in London and around the world, featuring artists, labels, podcasts, videos, interviews and more. We want to encourage others to host Kitchen Parties and connect to our streaming event and party with us from wherever they are in the world..... ....
