Most of our time is spent watching movies (and trying to get reviews written), reading horror reference books, listening to movie soundtracks, and trying to expand our knowledge of the genre. And of course, hitting several horror conventions throughout the year, seeing old friends and making new ones.
And of course, when we have the time, working on the website.
Music
While we love classical music and listen to a lot of movie soundtracks, I'm still an old school Metal-Head from the 80's. Pretty much don't care the most of the new metal these days, unless maybe if it comes from outside the U.S. But still listen to bands like Sabbath, Iron Maiden (pre-Somewhere in Time), Judas Priest, Lordi, Iron Savior, Savatage, and many, many others.
As for the Movie soundtracks, some of our favorites are CREEPSHOW, the original NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, pretty much anything score that Goblin did, AMITYVILLE HORROR, CRY WOLF, HELLRAISER, THE FOG, THE OMEN, any Hammer Film score, and anything that Howard Shore has done for David Cronenberg's films. Of course, there are tons more of these as well.
Movies
Where to start? We tend to enjoy all the aspects of the genre. From Italy, Mexico, Spain, Russia, Hammer, and much more. With most of the American horror films not being up to par, there is always a rich history out there to discover. So if you don't like what is coming out now, shut up and do some research. There are more than enough classics out there that you haven't seen to keep you busy.
Television
Don't watch TV, other than occasionally the Food Network.
But back in the younger days, it was filled with Twilight Zone, Ghost Story & Circle of Fear, Tales From The Darkside, Monsters, and Tales From The Crypt.
Books
Years ago, I used to read a lot of horror fiction. But it got to the point where I couldn't afford both hobbies of collection horror movie memorabilia and horror fiction. And like they say, you can't serve 2 masters, so I gave up on the fiction, and devoted my time to horror movies.
But I still read quite a bit of reference books on the genre. From biographies to interview books, to movie and studio biographies, if it's about the horror genre, I'll pick it up for the collection.
Heroes
Any horror fan that is willing to expand their knowledge and learning the history of the genre.
Directors and actors who don't think that making horror movies is below "real filmmaking".
Those that are making a horror film because of their love of the genre, not just because it might be popular at the time, or to break into the business so they can go on later to make "real movies".
Celebrities that are proud of their work in the genre and are not embarrassed that they might only be known for that work.

Hi! Just wanted to make sure all my friends know that my new erotic horror novel THE 13TH is now in stores everywhere! I hope you'll check out this debauched and demonic horror ride!
There's even a website devoted just to the book, with an interactive map of the places and characters at www.the13th-horror.com.
Edward Lee called THE 13TH "A double-barreled shotgun blast of macabre entertainment -- an expert amalgamation of grotesquerie, eroticism, mystery, and pitch-black occult horror that no fan of the genre can miss."
And Gary A. Braunbeck said, "John Everson's The 13th is the first out-and-out horror novel in a long while to actually scare the **** out of me while reading it. It's stylish, extremely well-written, filled with richly-drawn characterizations, and boasts a labyrinthine plot worthy of Umberto Eco. Trust me -- this one will fry your nerves and break your heart."

The dark, forbidding alleys of ruined cityscapes; the hopeless lives of brutalized whores, amoral hit-men, and vengeful-victims of violence—these are the landscapes and characters that fill the stories, poems, and prose-poems of Joseph S. Pulver, Sr. in his first collection.
“The prose of Joe Pulver can take its place with that of the masters of our genre—Poe, Lovecraft, Campbell, Ligotti—while his imaginative reach is something uniquely his own.” –from S. T. Joshi’s Foreword
