I'm not sure if..if you're okay (I just read your last blog. Granted, it's a few months late but..) I lost my grandfather on my little brother's birthday about..four years ago. And I know it hurts. And it sucks that people we love have to leave us in the end. But they do and they would have wanted us to always think about them with smiles on our faces instead of tears in our eyes. If you ever need someone to talk to-someone to vent at-than you know exactly where I am, Katie.
Feel better soon, okay? I miss talking to you. And I really do hope that your job gets better. We all know how much jobs can blow sometimes.
Keep your chin up, buttercup. :]

Be well,

You're ALIIIIIIVE. How simply wonderful. :P
Yeah, the time difference is shit but I don't have school tomorrow [on the 19th. So, erm, 20th for you?] so I'll be on the computer most of the night. I've decided you need to come online and talk to me then, hehe.
I've missed you, too. I've gone for months without my Katie-cool fix. :[

It's been a quiet few months without news from the Mesmere camp, but we are happy to report that it is most definitely the calm before the storm. We are still kicking & about to explode back into action once more with a gig that will leave you wondering "what on earth just happened? my senses have been stretched and tantalised to their utmost perceivable ends and all I want to do is find out how I can have MORE!"
Presenting the long-awaited MESMERE SPECTACULAR!!
If you only see one Mesmere gig this year (and Lewis promises you on whole heartedly tossing his pedals into an eternal bottomless pit of amplifierless doom, that after you see this gig "only seeing one Mesmere gig this year" will seem more rediculous than being viciously attacked & subsequently hospitalised by a caterpillar) then Friday the 30th of March at THE GLOBE THEATRE, is the night that you will always remember as the most elegantly produced progressive rock gig of 2007.
220 Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley in Brisbane - www.globetheatre.com.au
We will be joined by two fantastic local bands Skinny Jean (melodic indie-rock) & LITTLE RED LIGHT (funk-rock). And between sets local
minstrels Jake Rush & Dan Parsons will keep the avid music supporter ear deep in acoustic-style melody & mood that you could cut with a bottle of Jack Daniels
So what makes this gig worthy of possible hospitalisation? Glad you asked...
This performance is a SPECIAL SHOWCASE featuring all-new original work by VISUAL PROJECTION EXTRAORDINAIRES -- the Award Winning RED TAPE PICTURES. We've received funding (three cheers for Arts Queensland www.arts.qld.gov.au) to produce a series of visual pieces to augment our blend of progressive & melodic rock for audiences as far as we can reach them.
We'll also be filming & recording the show to produce our very first live DVD so if you're:
A.inclined to a spot of nude crowd surfing (and let's face it, everyone has at least entertained the notion, all those hands grabbing & touching, ooh...).
B. sick of rip off/regurgitation bands getting all the praise that their
publicist can muster & then taking away precious venue/radio/music video support from LOCAL MUSIC that breaks the same-old, same-old mold of what is currently known as a live show in Brisbane.
C. interested in seeing a superlative gig, having your socks rocked off, then getting the entire performance on a DVD & into your portable music/video device to enjoy vividly for a minute short of forever.
D. just enjoy listening to live bands on a Friday night.
E. Sick of abstract guitarists ranting through the MySpace medium &
just want him to shut up (by simply coming to his gig).
M. ALL OF THE ABOVE
We have a limited number of 2-4-1 entry vouchers for all you lovely people who fall under category M. All you need to do is email info@mesmere.com & we'll send one your way.

Ahh, uni is back again, second year already, i can't believe it! In one of my courses, I'm in a group that has to create a Gold Coast installation for a new art form from the US that is being displayed in Oz. It's called www.wildanimus.com and it's a bit out there! We've got a $6000 budget to work with too, so it's something sizable! But I'm having that "what have you gotten yourself into" feeling! :P
