Kitty Adams, born Kylie Una Adams has been singing professionally for over
twenty years. She began writing songs at the age of
five. Kitty moved from Bellingen to Newtown, Sydney in 1987 and formed
her first country covers band "The Willows" in 1988. In 1991 she recorded
with the "Snow Leopards" on Waterfront Records. Kitty recorded 2 songs
Johnnie" & "I'll Breakdown" both receiving extensive airplay on JJJ radio.
Her video clips aired on Rage, ABC TV. Two years on Kitty teamed up with
Dom Phillips and started a blues band "Deep South" which went on to support
Canned Heat, Kevin Borich and Lonesome Boogie. In 1995 they embarked
on an original project called the "Apollonians" performing around Sydney
venues and on tour with Richard Clapton, Mental as Anything and many
others. In 1998 Kitty began a duo with her sister Jenny Adams as
the "Adams Sisters' playing original country ballads at local gigs and
festivals. Jenny is an accomplished singer, songwriter & guitarist in her own
right. In 2000 Kitty started another country band the "Kitty Adams & the
High Ho Silvers", playing originals and covers in local pubs. One of her
songs "Wallpaper Horses" made it to Tamworth, featuring on local TV. Kitty
also started the Bellingen Singer, Songwriter and Musicians Society and
encouraged songwriters to perform on stage, recording them and airing them
on local radio 2bbbfm. In 2001 Kitty joined the local jazz and Zoobop
playing at gigs on the east coast and Bellingen Jazz Festival. In 2002 Kitty
played at the Kitty Adams Jazz Trio at the Bellingen festival. In 2003 Kitty
moved back to Sydney and formed another country band, Kitty & the
Alleycats, playing originals and covers in country and rockabilly venues &
festivals for nearly four years. Now Kitty is concentrating on showcasing her
original songs and hopes to be recognized as a successful singer and
songwriter in her own right, while still performing covers of country,
rockabilly and blues. Recently Kitty has teamed up with her sister Jenny
Adams and good friend Lisa McIntosh , forming the group The Melodies!!

Remember the Coopers Happy Hour...........A post worth readn For those that remember Newtowns Coopers Arms Happy hour, when it seemed anyone who was anyone and anybody who wasn't would pack into the Coopers Arms Hotel once a week for $2 beers, then drink the night away. You'll know how that one night brought the people of Newtown together, many people met over the pool tables and many friends mixed among differant circles long into the early hours. It was an institution that lasted for many years and wove the fabrics of the Newtown Social Scenes tight together.
Not since Dave Cooper sold the pub and the new (yuppie scum owners) took away the happy hour has Newtown had anything like it ............ UNTIL NOW.
Fast Forward 3 1/2 years, A man named Tony Townsend, with a dream of Rock and Roll says we need something to bring it all back. We need another Institution in the heart of Newtown. His Pub is ready to host that Institution. Bigger Better and more rocking than Anything that has come before ...............
doingitlive presents... for the benifit of all those that remember and those that don't .... DIRTY TUESDAYS AND THE $5 Jug of Beer.
Starting on Tuesday the 3rd of February at 7pm an Institution will be reinstated. This will not be a happy hour, this will be something you will tell your kids about. A differant Band each week will play the night away, entry will be free. Drinks WILL be cheap and memories be many. Friendships will be made, and brain cells will be lost .......................... You buying this shit yet cause it's selling fast
